Okay I can let my surprise out now, We have just bought our dream cabin house, This is something we have been looking into for 2 years, We really wanted to build one on the river and had considered a lake lot but its hard to just up and leave the farm for very long ,so our son had built a cabin house about 7 years ago on the back side of our property he moved to Lexington several months a go and decided to sell it, It is secluded, very quite has a huge lake pond down in front of it, you can set in the back yard and watch the deer and wild turkeys, We will be remodeling it some to make an extra bed room up stairs, I want to put my little wood cookstove over there and a mantle that came out of my MILs house. We had really planned on building a Real log cabin from old Logs but after talking to our friend that does log homes we decided against that, it seems that most old log houses have been covered for years with a house built around them and once the logs have been exposed to the elements they start to rot fast and bugs get in them, I feel if we are putting money in something I want it to last a long time and there is always a resale option also This way we know what it is because my husband sawed all the wood for it off of our farm, WE like to use a lot of cedar, now what I am thinking along the lines of investment is use it when we want to and rent it by the week for people that just want to get away for a few days,So girls when you want a very quite peaceful few days come on down.

It sounds beautiful- my kitchen is butter yellow with black and red! I am ready to travel- in Meg's suitcase or any other thing;) A whole room of your pillows sounds just divine to me...I just tucked Bella in with hers and she was snoozing on it in no time flat- Thanks for making her bedtime so sweet.

I cooked on it many years ago before I was married. My mom and dad gave it to me but I had never had a place to put it, Did you see Megs post? I am not kidding you there is a room in my shop that is stacked to the ceiling with pillows, Sounds like they just might pack you in a suit case, Ha

Sounds so lovely, Miss Wilma! And now you'll be even CLOSER to me in Northern Kentucky!!! It wouldn't be a bad jaunt at all to come and see ya sometime! I have heard the same thing about the old cabins of real log--that with exposure to the elements after so long, they have a tendency to be more suceptible. Oh well, you're gonna just love it, anyway, I know!!!! And I love that you are making it your own, with the mantle from your MIL's home. Such nice personal touches!!!

Miss Wilma,
I think I must be a nice shade of green about now. How exciting for you. A new toy to play with, kind of a big toy but never the less a new toy. Such fun to have a whole to house to decorate. Can't wait to see pictures. Will you have room for all your things? Are you keeping your current house? If I lived closer I would come help you move your things to the new place. But you must keep in mind that sometimes things get lost when you move and just because I would be helping doesn't mean its my fault. Well I Know we will all be looking forward to pictures.

yes I have waited a long time probably could have used the money on more practical things but I am not getting any younger so why not get something I really want, I have always been practical and tried to spend wisely, So I couldnt be hurting on buying property.I am looking forward to fixing it up i wont have to spend much just make some new curtains and finish out the bed room. You will have to come stay in it when you come to Glasgow. I have enough furniture to furnish it but I am thinking I might build a few pcs and buttermilk paint them, Hannah has a cupboard to die for maybe I can swing it into the budget, now wont I have fun cooking with the girls on the wood cook stove. Will send your pkg in the morning Miss Wilma
