How much sleep do you get, on average? I am usally about 6-7 hour, 8 if I did something REALLY stressful or even fun.

I have tried everything to shut my mind off at night, but as of late, I am so excited to get up and start the day- I have so many ideas popping out of my head right now.

How about you?

Cheers,
Heather

Sleep?

I usually get from 11pm-7am so usually 8 hours. I tend to do better in general if I get that much. I tend to be not myself with 6 or less. I don't know how I did it in college :-p I am not a napper either but when I hear my body saying something and I think a nap would help I force myself to at least lay down. If I sleep deeply I can usually sleep less than 8 and feel very ready to wake up early.

I usually get around 9-10 hours a night, but I wake up often (mostly to pee these days!)

I've heard that getting an uninterrupted 8 hours of sleep a night is a myth for most people. We aren't wired to sleep continuously for 8 hours since being evolved from a mostly agrarian society. Waking up to add wood to a fire and tend to animals in the middle of the night used to be the norm.

I go to bed about 9 or 10 pm and am wide awake at 2pm every night. Then I am awake till about 4 and have to get up at 5:30. So it is only about 6 or 7 hours of sleep I get. I am beat by about 9pm and since the kids are already in bed, I just go up with them...it is frustrating for me though to be awake from 2-4...and wide awake. I too also have a very bad problem with falling asleep when I am watching a program on TV or a movie with the kids...but what is really bad is when I fall asleep in the movie theater with the kids...I can't believe I do that!! Sweet dreams, Erica:)

Hi Heather, I get broken sleep. I always have. I will sleep for about 2 or 3 hours and then wake up. It is a good thing I guess because in the winter I am the one who puts wood on the fire at night!! Also the doxies seem to like to go out 2 or 3 times a night too. I suppose altogether I get 6 hours or so. In the warmer months a little more. I do ok, but, more than once I fall asleep watching one of my favorite progams or reading the paper.I wish I wouldn't do that. Especially when I wake up right as the credits are rolling.
