What a nice gift I received today from Elizabeth, candismom. Its an embroidered kitchen towel with a red check trim, I just love it. Also three little stitch kits to make. Thank you Elizabeth! I posted a picture.

Oh My Nancy Jo I just looked at your blog and I think I missed a day or two. What a beautiful towel, Elizabeth always does such beautiful stitching!
Your thrift finds are great! My daughter and I are going thrifting tomorrow.
Always enjoy your blog. What a pretty snowfall picture. It looks so peaceful.

Hi Nancy, well I guess I'm learning!! I went on your blogspot to look at your photos and found a new world out there! Your trip to the thrift shop looked like a good one and you do have a good eye.
I also came across the photos Mary Emmerling's book, the one you took to bed to read recently and I had to comment on the fireplace photo....that really made me stop and reflect. It was in 1990 and Art and I had driven up to Ky from Charleston to get the log cabin ready, we would be moving up that following spring. We had driven into town for supplies and passed through one of the little villages, there was an antique mall there and of course it's a law you have to stop. We bought the mantle for the fireplace. As I looked at the photo I remembered that very day we stopped there and now today I remembered again - that was 17 years ago, the building remains but the business has recently fallen to auction....so many chapters in our lives.
We always enjoy seeing these past copies of magazines, books etc that featured our cabins and our lives, it was such a priviledge to be recognized but the best part was how these publications were the link to so many wonderful folks we probably would never have known. Now that we have TIME we are starting to really enjoy all those contacts from the past.
I am so anxious to share photos with all of you and I WILL learn how to do this. when I get the first photos on I expect to hear bells ring all the way to Kentucky!
Today however, my New England roots make me wish I was seeing that snow! You wouldn't believe how many snow photos have been in our email today.
Thanks again Nancy for (unintentionally) bringing me on here.....

My best,
Hannah
