Wow what a show we seen last night. Dd and I climbed out of bed at 1:30 a.m. and headed down the road to see the Perseid meteor shower. It was incredible. You were suppose to be able to see 40-80 meteors in an hour. The first 15 mins. were pretty cloudy, however the north east sky opened up after that and we seen 52 in an hour, 57 in an hour and two mins., then we headed home.

Although this mamma was pretty tired, it was well worth getting up to see. Living in the country is wonderful, if only for this reason. The night skies are spectacular.

Did anyone else see it?

I'm so jealous that you had a good show!

It was unfortunately cloudy all weekend in a lot of Ontario. I was asking everyone I knew who would be out camping or cottaging if they saw the meteor shower, but no... sigh. I've also been trying to see them this week, but the skies at night have not cooperated for me. Ah well, there is always next year, right?
