Posted - Nov 16 2007 : 10:50:40 AM Hey! It's me, EllynAnne, the Apron Lady, betwixt and between a moment of quietude, which I am utilizing to stop by and connect with y'all. Despite my absence, I've checked in often to read what's what and to marvel at the creativity, genius and lovely support that is inherent in this grouping. I also located the slip of paper where I'd jotted my password, an unearthing which Grace kept telling me would show up just when I was ready.
Since I last chatted with y'all, I completed my book and traveled to Kansas City for its photography. The shooting was 3 full days in a studio where there was an energizing environment so hip, I thought I was in a movie or something! Very exciting, especially compared the real world I inhabit.
One more thing to share: my national Tie One On Day is next Wednesday, Thanksgiving eve. In celebration of the humble apron and the spirit of women of earlier generations who have worn it, I'm encouraging everyone to pause in the preparation of our own bounty, wrap a loaf of bread in an apron, tuck a prayer or note of encourage-ment in the pocket, and tie one on...an apron, of course!, and deliver the wrapped bundle to someone in need of spiritual or physical sustenance.
I honestly believe that no matter which way you turn out of your own front door, someone who is deserving of a hug is very close by. Lest we forget, women clad in aprons have traditionally prepared the Thanksgiving meal, and it is within our historical linkage to share our bounty.
If you "observe" national Tie One On Day, I'd love to hear of it.
Wishing y'all a yummy delicious Thanksgiving,
xxea Tie One On...an apron, of course![pink] www.apronmemories.com |

Hey Girls,
Be sure to get someone take a picture of you in your apron. It will be a treasure for your grandchildren or great-grandchildren someday.
And we can even share the pics with each other.
