Posted - Nov 13 2007 : 10:55:41 AM I am going to spend Thanksgiving with my boyfriend and his family this year, and I'd like to get his mother a little gift to thank her for inviting me and all. Any ideas for a nice gift that would be perfect, and not over the top?

Posted - Nov 15 2007 : 2:54:12 PM I just got some of MJF chocolates. They are awesome!
http://products.maryjanesfarm.org/pfoshop/product.asp?dept_id=298&ProductID=2149030 They come in a beautiful 3 pack that hardly needs wrapping. It would be the perfect gift for anyone, cause we know pretty much everyone likes chocolate. It would also make a great gift for teachers, co-workers, stocking stuffers, ok seriously, it's divine chocolate. Buy some for gifts but I betcha at least one pack won't last past your desk, I know I ate my way through two already. I'd better go order some more.

Posted - Nov 14 2007 : 10:06:40 PM I would say a wonderful flower arragement she could put on the table during dinner. Most florists have some with or without candles that are fall themed. Or something she could keep for years to come would be a wreath or wall decoration for fall/winter!
Good luck! |

Posted - Nov 13 2007 : 12:36:25 PM I love Caldrea products for hostess gifts, especially for folks that love their homes, and make them cozy. They have 3 new "holiday" scents, this year, too. If you don't know about the company, here is a link: http://www.caldrea.com/default.aspx

Posted - Nov 13 2007 : 11:50:18 AM I like to give a basket of fruit from my Xin-laws farm (oranges, lemons, tangerines and avocados). Everyone seems to love it especially since fruit is so high in the markets. Sometimes I include a favorite recipe.
For hostesses I give little boxes of stationary or scented candles. If I know the person well I try to pick something in keeping with their personality or hobbies (ie: garden stuff or a little book for my gardener friends).
I'm not usually one to go over the top giving to everyone in sight like the mailman, trash guy, paper boy, etc. But, it is always appropriate to give a little something as a hostess gift.
Hope this helps. |
