I wanted to share this short story with you. Mom was so sick for 2 days. 40 hours she was virtually unconcious except for periods of vomiting and moaning because she felt so horrible. It was so hard to watch, but I just loved her and cared for her and done a lot of praying. Yesterday morning I had prepared her meds which I had been having to give her all of them rectally because there was no way she could take them. I sat down and was getting ready to give her her meds and I heard this little voice say, "Whatcha got", I looked up and her big brown eyes were looking at me. What a precious sight. I said well, I was getting ready to give you this medicine for your tummy, can you take it or do you want me to put it in your bottom, She looked at me and said "Well I sure dont want it in my bottom" and she laughed. I said fine then. Then she wanted to sit up and have something to drink and ate a little yogurt and some pudding. I sat down on the couch next to her and by this time I'd woke Jenni my sister and Wade my brother and we woke up Dad. Mom sat there with her arms around me and Jenni and said "God is sooo good" and then she began to sing this song, I will never forget this moment. It was so precious. Here are the lyrics to the song she sang to us. Love ya girls, Mikki

Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know "Thus saith the Lord"

####Chorus:

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Himo'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
"Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

####

Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

####

I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, saviour, friend;
And I know that He is with me,
Will be with me to the end.

####

Mikki,
What a blessing you have been given. To be there when she was lucid and to hug her and listen to her sing to you. She sounds like her faith is unwavering, which is fantastic. God bless your mom, and all of you in this trying time. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs Mikki and remember to take care of yourself too!

Sorry, Mikki, I couldn't post right away because I had tears standing in my eyes so thick I couldn't see the screen!!!!

You have such glorious moments with your mother, caring for her...These will be such cherished memories. Gather in all you can.

And keep her singing.
