Posted - Oct 20 2007 : 06:49:52 AM I joined a few months back & lurked long before that - I am not a big poster either - but I LOVE linking to everyone's blog/Etsy & I am in such awe of what I see! How do you gals do it? The links, the network of blogs, your handiwork and the camaraderie simply amazes me. I started blogging because of this site and gathered the courage and inspiration to open an Etsy shop because of all the wonderful things for sale I have seen. You all make it look so easy!!!

Posted - Oct 22 2007 : 5:51:21 PM LOL - my DH understands, but not exactly, when I talk about my online friends. He knows I spend time on my "sites" - but can't quite grasp the idea that you can actually bond with people you never met. I guess it's a guy thing!

Posted - Oct 21 2007 : 8:29:55 PM My husband said the same thing to me once when I went to Portland to spend the weekend with 10 women I'd only 'talked to' online. I said "They're quilters. How bad could that be?" We had a great time. It was like we'd known each other forever. We just got back from our 9th retreat in 4 years.

Posted - Oct 21 2007 : 09:37:08 AM When we all met MaryJane in Ellenwood, Atlanta at Karin's house recently, I think it was smoothiejuice who said, "I told my husband I wanted to drive for hours to meet a group of women I talk with online". He said, "You know, they make horror movies with this storyline."
That made us all laugh a lot!
But the friends here are real. :)

Posted - Oct 20 2007 : 6:20:00 PM We're really glad you are here Grace. I too find the women here such an inspriration-both their kindness and their talents! I think we all struggle to balance the different areas of our lives...I know I sure do. MJF is my safe and relaxing place. I don't know how many times I am talking to someone about "my friend, so & so..." and stop to explain that THIS is where I know the person from!

Posted - Oct 20 2007 : 2:55:27 PM I also forgot to say that I never was able to lurk on this site. I have too big a mouth for that, and cannot keep it quiet! Sometimes I wish I lurked more (actually, lurk is not the word for us, it is "quietly visit") :) I should quietly visit more often, but alas, I always blurt instead of lurk!

Posted - Oct 20 2007 : 07:55:30 AM Grace- What a sweet blog you have! I love your kitty-cat tea set. :) The thing I love most about the Farmgirl Connection is that I can "see" the talents that have been bestowed on so many women all over the country and the world. And the fact that they are willing to impart their knowledge with us makes it that much better. I look to them with great appreciation for what they do, in all aspects of their lives. This place is like a great blanket that wraps us up in its abundant warmth. I'm glad you are a part of it.

Posted - Oct 20 2007 : 06:53:01 AM I think that is how we all started. Looking, peeking and then joining it. I also wonder how other farmgals do so much. But joining in is all about the friendliness and the feeling of belonging. MB PS I also collect Cicely Mary Barker fairies.
