Hi, Ladies. I want to give you an update as you all are so good to me, empowering me with your prayers, good wishes, notes, cards and surprise packages.

I have a new pain medicine which helps a lot. However, I am also tired and sometimes unable to type very well on the computer. So, I have not visited the "farm" in a bit only just once or twice to read up on all of you.

Tomoorrow is my run through and I meet the pain specialist. Friday I meet the medicial oncologist. Monday, I start radiation with weekly chemo for five consecutive weeks. I also need to meet two specialists in NY on the 25th. One will do a procedure on the 30th that is to place a stint in my bladder to the right kidney to save it from everything going on with tumor and treatment. I could not get in before starting treatment. So, treatment really stretches out to 6 weeks with missing a day here and there for appointments and Thanksgiving.

I got my port in on Monday. I know I'll be grateful for that as my veins have been rebelling against all the other prodding for bloodwork and tests.

So, if you can remember to pray for me, just the strength to get through each day as it comes as well as shrinking and dissolving away of the tumor. There is 50% chance the radiation and chemo alone will take care of the tumor. I am voting on this 50%!!!! I am working on the mind issues with daily relaxation and visualization/imagery. Patricia says all the help from you girls only makes it better for the universe/God to get the message and help me get there.

Thank you all for caring for me. I REALLY appreciate it. I will be living with my sister in NJ from Mon-Fri with hubby. The facility is Sloan in NJ. My friend is living here with her daughter during that time. We will come home Friday evening to Monday mornings. It should work out with hubby's parents for back up.

I will try and post as I can, but please know that you really are lifting me up and helping me so very mcuh.

Thinking of you, Clare. Thanks for sharing a photo of the quilt; it's beautiful, and so obviously full of love and caring. May you stay strong through your treatments and exceed all the expectations they have for the cutting edge treatments being used.

Hugs,

Jo

Ladies, I just awoke from a nap under my quilt. I had the stent procedure this morning, and there is so much pain relief in my back now. Truly, you all are keeping me safe and loved. I am so grateful for the advice and encouragement with MSKCC and so pleased so far. Thank you, ladies, for everything.

The love and caring that went into making the quilt is so evident. So especially nice for the girls to make it for you.
This is such a wonderful group of ladies, a blessing for everyone in so many ways. Surely shows the true meaning of friendship.

Sunshine, I love my purple angel on the quilt.

The quilt kept me so warm and cozy. I was so glad I had it!!! It was admired by so many nurses in the chemo unit. I was so glad to share the love behind it. Thank you ladies.

Ok, first day under belt-chemo and radiation. It feels good to mark it off the calendar and so good to feel like my cancer is being eradicated now.

Thank you ladies for all the love and prayers. Thank you.

Just a quick email to let all you ladies know how much I appreciate you all. Today is the big day. Guess what arrived in my mail yesterday on my way down for the run through? A QUILT!!! A quilt made by cinnamomgirl/Carrie with blocks from ladies on the forum and solid ones to fill it out. It is the sweetest thing. I cuddled under it last night when i slept part of the night in the recliner. I am taking it with me for my chemo time. I promise to write more and take a picture to post this weekend. I jsut wanted to quickly email before heading off to treatment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Clare, This is such good news. The Dr.'s are hitting this tumor with everything they have got. With the attitude and determination you have, plus all the Dr.'s and all the prayers that are coming your way, I really feel you are going to beat this. Even when things are not going to well and you are feeling badly because of the chemo and radiation, just keep your eyes on the future and what the end result will be. You healthy and well again. It will give you the reslove to keep going.

Prayers and Hugs
Mary Jane
