FARMGURLZ GO SHOPPIN'!!!!
Friends Ivy Peppers from Tennessee and Janet Christensen from Eastern Kentucky stayed an extra night here at Freedom Valley Farm. We literally stayed up talking until we had to take turns WAKING each other up!! Slept in a little .. then headed for BARDSTOWN for a fun day of shopping! Stopped in Greensburg at our Country Club for a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuits and coffee! Then .. ten miles up the road to Campbellsville .. where we stopped to shoppe at our local 'Peddlar's Mall' .. and BOY HOWDY! did we ever get some great treasures!!! Then down the road through Lebanon and to BARDSTOWN!
FIRST STOP .. SUGARBUCKET's ANTIQUES SHOPPE! where i got a 'motherload' of wonderfuls!!! We had lunch in town .. hit some of the shoppes until it was closing time .. then head back to Green County where the girls got in their cars and headed through those windy, hills before it got too dark!
What dear women Ivy and Janet are! We shared stories of our lives .. past and present and became 'true friends'.
i took a few pictures of some of the treasures i got!
Sweeheart Ivy gave this adorable autumn suitcase to me .. and i will use it for 'special times'!

got this incredibly huge 'wash bucket' from Sugarbucket! I have a wonderfully primitive stand tucked somewhere that i am going to put it on .. and put it on the 'back porch' to hold .. ohhh ... whatever the 'season' brings!
oh good grief!!!! i made 'gifts' for every farmgirl who came to our 'social' with maryjane .. and dang if i didn't forget to give them out! i'm hoping some of the girls jus' picked from the basket .. cuz' i did tell them it was there. EF'FEN you did not get your 'treasure' .. jus' come back to visit me again .. it will still be sittin' here for you to choose a prize!
got this awesome olde wood egg crate (FULL of those paper egg separators! at Peddlar's Mall.
i LOVE this .. the farmer who sold it to me told me it was a 'hog EQUALIZER' .. if you don't know .. you probably don't want to!!! i'm going to do some 'research' on it!
cathy murray from cobblestone gifted this dear black sign to me .. i hung it over the doorway into the kitchen. it says:

ANOTHER DELIGHTFUL SIGN FROM COBBLESTONE FARM! this one will go on my 'garden porch'.. LOVE THE CHERRY GREEN COLOR! AND THE 'SAYING' IS ONE OF MY FAVS!
OH MY! I DO LOVE THIS 'FARM BOOK'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... GOT IT FOR MARYJANE AT OUR LIBRARY BOOK SALE .. BUT .. AGAIN .. AMIDST ALL THE FUN I WAS HAVING .. I FORGOT TO GIVE IT TO HER ... WILL SEND A LITTLE 'PACKAGE' OF GOODIES THAT I FORGOT TO GIVE. (I DID SEND ALONG WITH HER COPIES OF MY TWO VERY MOST FAVORITE COOKBOOKS I HAVE EVER EVER EVER COME ACROSS. I BUY THEM EVERY TIME I SEE THEM. (THEY ARE THE 'MARLBORO' COOKBOOKS .. BIG BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS ... GOOGLE THEM AND GET THEM IF YOU CAN FIND THEM! THEY ARE TERRIFIC! THE PHOTOS ALONE ARE WORTH THE PRICE OF THE BOOK .. AND OHHHHH MY! THE RECIPES!!!!!!!!!!
THE 'DRAWINGS' IN THIS FARM BOOK ARE PHENOMENAL! I'LL POST SOME PICS BEFORE SENDING IT ALONG .. I WILL DEFINITELY BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER COPY FOR ME .. BUR SURELY DON'T EXPECT TO FIND IT FOR A QUARTER!!!

good morning miz nancy ... (ha! or is it AFTERNOON?) i've been sitting at this computer contraption since i rolled out of the bed .. haven't even had my cuppa' coffee this morning .. and honey hunk is 'sleeping in' ... soooooo .. i wanted to get to my 'boards' and read all the latest happenings cuz' i've mostly just sat here to answer e-mails and post about our fun mj gathering!
ivy said she found the painted suitcase already painted .. but she CAN do painting and 'altered art' .. she is PHENOMENAL at it! but she added the 'autumn' finery on top! last trip here she gave me an 'altered' olde metal lunchbox! it is ADORABLE! and i also got a dear 'altered' notebook from her this trip too!
I had two HUGE baskets of gifties .. and told the girls about them .. and i do know that some remembered to reach in and take them .. cuz' one basket was about empty .. they are mostly 'sewie' things that i have made .. i tucked one of them into your box along with a pattern .. and YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! it has been in the back of my car probably for a month or more along with a zillion other dollies and treasures to mail. i have whipped past post offices a 'hunnered' times on my way somewhere to mail them! i actually stopped at our local postie one day .. and it was a holiday! (columbus day) .. then i stopped again the day before mj arrived .. i got there toooooo early ... came back .. they were AT LUNCH ... came back a third time .. they were closed for the day!!! (ahhhhhhhh! small town post offices!) BUT .. i have at the TOP of my agenda for tomorrow morning (MONDAY) to go SIT THERE with a good book .. until they open!
MaryJane and kids headed for wilma's place after here .. (luckily they did not head for the airport .. cuz' lucas called about an hour later to say they had forgotten stella jane's diaper bag. he drove the hour BACK to our place to pick it up! They were leaving the next day for Idaho. They surely had a whirlwind trip .. but took back lots of wonderful memories from Georgia and Kentucky!
I soooo wanted to introduce as many people as i could to her business and products .. and i do believe that was accomplished .. and still more to come what with the newspaper report of her visit .. can hardly wait to see those! (our papers come out once a week!)
SUNDAY ... today is my day of 'rest'!!! (well .. i do have a coupla' fun events coming up that i am planning and packing for!)
next week i have one or two friends coming to visit from ENGLAND. One of these friends, Meryl .. has been to the United States abouve FIVE times now ... and she has ONLY come to visit KENTUCKY! Has no desire to see 'the big cities' .. just loves Kentucky and it's people! She 'might' tag along again with friend JANE from England .. whom i have only met via the internet ... they are also good cyber friends with TWIGS who is the Editor of Mercantile Gatherings Magazine .. i have some photos of Meryl, i think, in my latest article in the magazine that i wrote. HA! and i have photos of her 'nekked' on our 'outdoor shower deck'!!! Anyhoo, they will stay here a coupla' days .. then twigsy and friends will amble down this way for a day of shoppin' and sewin'! THEN .. two days later, an olde Marine buddy (VIETNAM) of honey hunk's is coming from California for a visit! THEN .. two days after that .. i head for TOLEDO .. to celebrate our darling daughter Wednesday's BIRTHDAY .. with a GIRLS "DAY OF BEAUATY' AT THE SPA!!! Will celebrate HALLOWEEN with the kidlings .. THEN .. November 1 .. i'll head for some fun SHOWS in Ohio .. SIMPLE GOODS .. being one of them .. where HA! The owner and editor and a couple of the 'featured writers' will do some 'Maganzine Signings' at this show .. and meet lots of our readers!
THEN .. it ain't over t'il the fat lady sings! THE DAY AFTER i return from this whirlwind trip to OHIO ... Hank, and I and friends SUGARBUCKET and her husband are all heading to ALABAMA for a fun week's vacation!
WHEW! then i start thinking about THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS!!!

What a fun bunch of stuff Frannie. Isn't that suit case the cutest thing? Did she paint that? Funny that you forgot to hand out the little gifts, but maybe thats a good thing if I should stop by there will still be some there.
Did MJ and family head back home form your place or did they have other stops to make? I would be laying down now but I see you are still up and running. What is up for today?
