I went outside this morning and the grass was grey/green with a white crystal coat of frost on each blade. My porch rail was coated in light slick of ice that melted the second my body heat hit it, so by the time my hands touched the rail it was mostly cold water.

Fall has arrived!!

I really would LOVE to have frost--heck, I'd love for it to not be in the 90's!!!!

Lindy, we hit 94 yesterday, and it will be 91 today. They say cooler by the weekend, and I'm grateful.

We were in North Carolina (the Outer Banks) last week, and I had to wear a jacket most times. Then we get home and it's miserable! Stupid weather!

I refuse to buy pumpkins or corn stalks, or any indian corn until the temp drops to something more reasonable!!!!

I am going to have to go do the final harvest tomorrow! Then all my food gathering energies are going to be focused on gleaning apples and such that are growing wild around here.

WE are expecting our first frost tonight...there has been frost already at my sis in laws place on the north end of town..we are in the middle and more protected I guess. It is supposed to be down to 28 tonight. It is sweater weather now for sure..I LOVE it!! I had way enough of the hot weather to last me for awhile! The kids and I picked all the tomatoes...green and ripe both, and all the patty pan and zuchinni squash and the peppers that were still getting ripe and covered the pumpkins for tonight. We had a few tiny white "ghost" pumpkins to pick too..we ended up with 6 or 7 off of one little vine..they are adorable! We have two big boxes of green tomatoes in the family room now to ripen...and a big box of ripe ones for me to can ..maybe wednesday..I won't be able to get to them tomorrow at all! I need to go out and cut my sweet annie and hang that too...I think I will do it right now before I forget!! I am so excited to have a good little crop of it this year! I hope it re seeds again like this next year!

Isn't it amazing what pleasure connecting with nature brings. Glad you had time to stop and "smell the roses" Alee.

We had our first frost a week and a half ago and I had to harvest all that was left. But the acorn squash was AMAZING. It has to be my favorite.

Fall is my favorite season and seeing the leaves changing is spectacular!
