Hi everyone, thanks so much for your prayers. After having the dreaded scope ran, the dr. said I had 2 ulcers in my esophagus and my duodenum is swollen and inflamed, which is the bottom part of my stomach that goes to my intestines I think. ??? I'm feeling much better. My diet has changed too. The dr. told my hubby that I was far too young to have these problems and that he usually finds this in people sixty and older. I'm only 45. I am addicted to diet mt. dew. Grrrr, this has been hard to give up but I believe it's been the biggest part of my problem. Thanks again for your prayers!!!

~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Mikki, I'm glad they found the root of your problem, and can be corrected with a change in your diet. I'm sure it's a real relief for you that it wasn't anything more serious! Take good care of yourself, and don't get stressed out. Keep off the diet Mountain Dew! lol!

Get well soon Mikki Jo. I hope you can still eat chocolate. I am a chocoholic and it would be the death of me of I had to give it up.

Thanks so much for your prayers and thoughts and so much awesome encouragement. You gals are the best!!!! I have been drinking apple juice and water and some grape juice. A lot of fruits and veggies, no grease or fatty foods. No spicy or tomato paste, sauces ect. No acidic beverages or fruits. I feel much better, and I don't really miss the diet mt. dew. The meds help too, I feel so much better. Hope you all are having a wonderful week!!!

Mikki, Soooooooo glad you're doing better. I have reflux too but haven't had any ulcers. I'd be interested in what your Dr. has changed about your diet. Just glad there is something you can do about it.

Mikki, I am so glad it turned out to be acid reflux and not anything
worse. I have lived with this for years. I also had an ulcer in my esophogus. It was the most painful thing that I know, you can attest to that. The medicines will do wonders for you. It sounds like you were on your way to a dueodenum ulcer also. Pop or any carbonated drinks are not good, you know that now. So I am sure you have already switched to something else. Let me tell you the water bottle can be additive too!!At least we don't get the pain from it! It helps dilute the stomach acids too. I was young when that started for me too, about 39. Another thing that really doesn't help is stress. I know you have had your share too. Once you start to heal and get yourself back to normal you will feel great. You may end up on the acid stoppers for a long time. I am still on them, still doing fine. Truthfully I could care less, if taking a pill a day helps keep it under control that is fine with me. Have you lost weight since this started? I sure did, I looked awful for awhile. It really takes its toll on you. What causes the ulcer is the acid wearing away the tissue of your esophugus. It damages the tissues and can cause cancer if left untreated. I am so happy you are feeling better already. I know that was the way I was too. Isn't it just wonderful not to be in pain 24 hours a day? Take really good care of yourself physically and emotionally. They walk hand in hand. God Bless.

Dear Mikki. Change your diet if the doctor tells you to. you want this to heal and never come back. I know someone who had reflux so bad and drank soda all the time to help settle his tummy. In the end, he died of esophogeal cancer at 69. Soda does damage. If your doctor tells you to give it up, do it. try green tea by Arizona. it tastes good, no bubbles and even contains anti-oxidants. Of course, water is the best choice of all. Maybe over time you can change. Life is change. It is inevitable. good luck and know that you want to heal most importantly.
