FARMGURLZ: i'm thinkin' of conjuring up a one-day farmgurl gathering here at Freedom Valley Farm in central Kentucky (Green County) .. it would be fun to sit and make 'sumpthin'. i can do a 'make-do class' .. i taught one on friday at a Heritage Skills Retreat .. and it was wonderfully fun! i do have to make LOTS of 'kits' ahead of time .. soooo .. i'd need a DEFINITE COMMITMENT from all the gurlz that would like to come. (invite a friend to drive along with you too). i'd whip up some pb and j sammies 'er sumpthin' for us to munch on too!
i would need for you to send me TEN DOLLARS per guest .. and i will create at least FIVE 'sewie' project kits for you to make that day! (we did NINE little projects in six hours at Heritage Skills) .. i will post some photos on my 'blog' in the next day or two of the types of 'sewie make-do's' we would make.
IMPORTANT INFO: your ten dollars would be your NON-REFUNDABLE COMMITMENT to attend .. (i've done soooo many gatherings over the years and find that a small 'financial' non-refundable commitment usually means you will come. IF you cannot make it .. i would send you your kits and you'd have to e-mail me to 'walk you through' making them via cyberspace. let me know what you think gurlfrenz.
ALSO: i would need your ten dollars at least TWO WEEKS before the class in order to make enough for each guest. won't be able to make any 'last minute' kits cuz' of THE 'time' it takes to make them .. and my 'running of the roads' schedule.
we could gather sometime in OCTOBER (i hope) .. soon's i annouce the date ... please post HERE .. and .. E-MAIL me if you know for sure that you can attend. (don't wanna' make lots of kits unless i can count on you to come) .. i'll check my calendar tomorrow and choose a date when i will be 'home' .. and see how many of you can join us.
Remember .. your TEN DOLLARS will be your official 'registration'.

I sure hope so, too! If it happens, you all will absolutely love, and I mean LOVE, MaryJane - she's just like you might imagine -- real, kind, funny, amazingly industrious, generous, - geez, I could go on and on... Maybe that's why I'm not so secretly envious of all you who might get to see her!

gurlz .. the date for our FARMGIRL GATHERING will be sometime between October 6th through 12th .. i'm waiting on a 'very, very, very, very, a million times ... VERY .. special surprize that 'MIGHT' happen during that time .. and i have to wait for 'dates' until i know more .. but i am going to PROMISE SWEAR to you .. that IF it can be worked out .. you WILL want to join us ... even if you have to drive HOURS to get here!!!! soooooooo .. even if it is a 'week-DAY' .. and you work outside the home .. you WILL want to 'play hookey' to join us! SO ... clear OCTOBER 6 through OCTOBER 12 on your calendar ... so that when i announce the date .. it will be FREE for you! IF you come from afar .. i am soooo sorry that i will not be able to 'put you up' here at these teensy cabins .. BUT .. we have three cabins in town (only ten miles away) .. that can be rented through our City Hall. I think they sleep from two to four people each. There is a Holiday Inn Express in the next closest town from us .. (20 miles). PLAN to join us! I can get the phone numbers to these two places for you if you need them.

Frannie, that sounds great! Just make sure I'll know a head of time, so that I can plan--my dh and I share a car, so I need to be fair to him if he's got anything going on!
