Yesterday my daughter and I picked up a little half pug- half chihuahua at the animal shelter! He is a year old and just the sweetest cutest thing in the whole world! We'd been contemplating getting a dog for a long time! We got the prize. My daughter had just broken up with her boyfriend of two years,so he's the only male she wants in her life right now!!!!!We named him Jack Sawyer Sparrow Bauer the First-after all our favorite hot guys!!!(Lost,Pirates,24!!!!)We call him Jack for short(and he'll probably be the first and only since he's neutered!!LOL!) We're in love!!!

Oh, Mima - I'll bet he's even more pleased than you are to fall into the open arms of a farmgirl! What fun!!! He just sounds darling. There really IS something about shelter animals, isn't there? My dog is one - she's a big ol' golden retriever - and I just think "pound puppies" make the greatest pets (usually). Congrats!

XOXO, Libbie

Congrats on the new addition to the family. We too have a pound rescue - Sadie is part Chow and part Collie and the most adorable and loving dog in the world. When people see her they just fall in love. She's so sweet. And you're right Lu, rescue dogs are so appreciative of being adopted.

And love the name! How original.

Peace and love,
Annie

I forgot, I too have a "Jack", but he's a cat--he has multiple names, too--Jack Sprat the Babycat!

Oh Mima, Good for you! I agree, I think shelter dogs are the best! They are so appreciative of their new home and family, it seems. So congrats and I love the name too. Now we both have little Jacks! Please give him a hug and kiss from Auntie Lu!

Sounds adorable, and thanks for adopting from a shelter. All of our clan came from a shelter, and we feel SO blessed by them. The best companions we could have, for sure!

His name is great!!!! He will always hold a special place in your daughters heart, I know.

Congratulatons on your new pup Mima! Sounds like he's a keeper. We just brought home a rescue dog about a month ago & keep asking ourselves "WHO in their right mind gave up this dog?".
So happy to hear you found someone to love at the pound!

Pound puppies are the best! Our pound puppy is wonderful . . . she is a black lab that we think is mixed with a golden retriever, as looks like a black version of a golden retriever . . . so sweet and gentle. I love getting an animal from a shelter too . . . saves them from probable destruction. Love the name, though it might be a bit long for any documents or name tags! LOL! Imagine having that written on his dog dish or bed! LOL! Congrats!
