I was map questing a house I was interested in looking at (in my never ending pursuit for my farm house!) and I discovered that when you first go to mapquest.com in the top left hand corner you can put in your zip code and it tells you all of the cheapest gas prices in your area! For those of you with only one gas station within an hour this might not matter, but for those of us that live in areas with many to choose from this could be very helpful. I found one that was only $2.72 and just worked it into my errands yesterday, so there was no extra driving. The one nearest me is $2.95, so the savings was substancial! Anyway, I thought it was info. that might be worth passing along!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Here are some more tips to save on gas money:

Make sure you get your oil changed regularly

Make sure your tires are properly inflated- not over or under inflated

Keep windows rolled up on the Highway as rolled down windows increase wind drag

Replace your air filter regularly

Make sure your antifreeze is properly configured for the season.

Thanks, Brenda! I use mapquest all the time and I never noticed that cool little feature!

You still need to watch the signs because they rely on peopleto report the prices so it is not always 100% accurate but still a neat tool! We have been paying around 2.45 for the last two to three weeks! It has been nice as it was close to 3.15 most of the summer.
