Okay, this morning I went out to check on the 2 bunnies, turned around and there was this red object on the ground. A ripe tomato, and a green one and who is sitting beside them eating them. Not the bunnies, my little dog Lucy with her cohert Dudette. They picked the tomatos off with their snouts. Those little buggers!!!! If you have gone to the garden gate and read the tomato threads you will understand that we have been waiting for ripe tomatos for quiet a while and have finally gotten some. I was doing a Happy Dance but I guess my dogs wanted to join in that Happy Dance and help themselves.
I can see next year we are going to have a little fence around our garden. They also love peas, carrots and potato peels. Oh the trouble and fun they are.
Hope you all are having a great Sunday.
Carol Sue

Enjoying life.

That is so funny;;;a dog eating tomatoes! I have never heard that one. Love to see that on a hidden video! Many years ago we had a little black dog named Polly. She would sit under our pecan tree and crack them open and eat them like candy! She would sit on the ground and put her little paws around that pecan and chew on it till it cracked open and somehow she would work the nut right out of it. Amazing. Our little min-pin, Snoop, that we now have will eat just about anything. He loves green beans, garden peas, ice cream. He has had ice cream twice, only a big spoonful. He actually got a brain freeze the first time he tried it. I could tell what was happening, he stopped licking the ice cream, looked at me really wierd, shook his head and barked! I knew what it was. He took his time with it after that. He gets very vocal if we are eating anything and wants to try whatever we have. I have had to put the skids on this because since we had him nuetered he has gotten fat. Looks like a dog log. A snausage dog!

Ronna,

Macadamia nuts are also bad.

Stay away from Xylitol too. It's in gum and is great for people's tooth enamel, but lethal to dogs. It causes liver failure. I saw this in bagged form like how you would buy regular sugar.

I caught our dog munching my blackberries! that's ok I supplement her w/ whole food anyway.

She digs her own turnips too!

So, antioxidants all around!

I didn't know that, I dropped a piece of onion and they wouldn't touch it but didn't know that about grapes. Haven't given them any, I like them too much.
Thanks Ronna.

just don't let them have onions or raisins or grapes, they are toxic, along with chocolate. though Larry gives ours some chocolate, despite my warnings

Stealing corn, that piece of corn would almost be bigger than each of my pups but they would still try....LOL, that is so funny.
Yep, I think they are vegetarians.

My lab will help herself to tomotoes as soon as they are ripe..and she eats them, so I can only get half mad at her. She's getting so old and crippled, I can't get too upset with her about anything, knowing her days are numbered here.
