Posted - Aug 10 2007 : 7:46:35 PM Hello, everyone! I am new to posting, although I have been "lurking" around the board for a while.
I am new to my town and haven't really met anyone here, and I thought starting my own Farmgirl chapter would be a great way to meet new people. My town is fairly agro, and I'm sure there are tons of "undiscovered" bona-fide Farmgirls and Farmgirls at heart who would be interested. I've read MJ's lifebook, got my chapter leader materials, and I'm ready to go!
Has anyone started their Farmgirl chapter from scratch and can offer me some advice on inviting new people to join? In fact, does anyone have any advice at all on starting a new chapter? |

Posted - Aug 15 2007 : 7:24:12 PM Hi Jessie! So glad you are here and started a Chapter! I just started a Chapter and so far there are only 2 of us, maybe 3 as of today! Sounds like you have 2 in your group already! Just wanted to wish you luck with your Chapter and hope we can learn from each other what all we can do. I am planning a luncheon date next month. We will meet for the first time at a place called "Tom's Farm"! Should be fun! Please share and I will do the same!
Hugs, Maryjane Lee

Posted - Aug 10 2007 : 10:58:21 PM Hello Jesse and welcome. Do you have school aged children? I have found the school to be a great place to find like minded people. Or maybe join a craft group. Farmgirls love to craft and I am sure you will find some recruites there. Good luck, and enjoy the forum.

Posted - Aug 10 2007 : 9:04:27 PM Welcome Jessie! I am glad you found us..and you are going to love the gals you will meet. I suggest putting a flyer up if there is a bulletin board at your most local feed store or co-op and any other places farmgirls would frequent. Great way to meet neighbors too!! Have fun..and it will be great to get to know you here!
