Posted - Aug 03 2007 : 1:41:44 PM What are your thoughts on ethanol? They will be building a new ethanol plant about 5 miles from here.
Some folks say it is a good thing....other say no. I say anything that will make us less dependent on foreign oil has to be good. I know it costs more in the long run but at least we will have it.
Lots and lots and lots of corn in this rural area of Illinois and they will be using mostly local corn.
Just curious if you have any thought on this.

There is lots of information out there that I cannot even digest it all right now but I do know that the more we can be self sufficient the better off we are. Especially if we are supporting our farmers here at home.
Additionally whenever I go visit my parents I fill up my tank with bio-diesel. I drive a VW Beetle Turbo Diesel. I get over 50 MPG and sometimes 60+ on long trips. I wish I could buy the bio-diesel locally becuase I would. Regardless of what it cost me! My lil bug is Sundown Orange and she is so cute!
