Posted - Aug 02 2007 : 12:27:50 AM I was in the area tonight running errands when it happened. I didn't see anything and I beat feet to get the heck out of the way.
Last heard, 9 dead, 20 or so still missing.
Strength, love, and prayers, to the families and rescue workers.

Posted - Aug 01 2007 : 7:25:12 PM Before we moved here, we crossed that bridge many times. My sister is going to Mpls. this week and was going to take my mom to the dental school at the U and would have crossed it. Who would have thought such a tragedy would affect the American heartland. My prayers are with anyone affected. With a sad heart, JoAnn |

Posted - Aug 01 2007 : 6:11:53 PM I just read about this on the Internet. We're originally from Minneapolis and I have a son who still lives in Minneapolis. Going to call him as soon as I'm done here. He travels over that road all the time. Here's hoping he wasn't on it this time.
My thoughts and prayers are gong to be with all the families involved.
Peace and love. Annie |

Posted - Aug 01 2007 : 6:06:54 PM They're not saying what the cause may have been yet, but the MN Department of Transportation has been working on that bridge - both directions - all summer. It'd be too easy to point the finger there, but you just can't help but wonder if the roadwork weakened it. The guy from MnDOT was shaky voiced when he talked to the news just now...they must all be so freaked out.
