Yesterday evening I worked out in the yard a bit and when I was done I walked across the creek to my little cabin. As you all know, it's completely primitive. I spent the evening warming water on the fire and filling my big oval shaped tub up. I hung some sheets up for a bit of privacy and climbed in. What a treat it was, sitting on the front porch listening to the crickets sing and bathing in the old fashioned galvanized tub. It felt so good I didn't want to get out. There's just something so special and soothing about doing things the "simple way". It may take a bit more work to things the way grandma used to do, but it's all worth it in the end. I'm looking forward to my next "country bathtime"!!!

That sounds like so much fun! I would love to do something like that- throw in some bath powder and soak away a long day! I can just imagine watching the sun set, hearing the crickets start chirping and then lighting a lantern to read a book by. Oh! Now I want to go do that!! LOL

Kathie, You are so funny! There are a few pictures on my blog of my little cabin and I tell all about it. You may have to go to the sidebar of earlier months to see them all. If the rain holds off today I may just get my water heated up for another bath, lol! I don't have my antique woodburning cook stove installed yet, but plan to do that very soon. I'll be heading to walmart earlier today to stock up on some candles and oil for my lamps. I've had family and friends that have given me an oil lamp and some neat candleholders which I love! I have my cabin full of old lamps, lamps that look old, old lanterns, and candleholders. I love them and come the edge of dark I usually have my cabin lit up like a christmas tree, lol. One of my favorites is a cast iron chandelier that does great to light the cabin. I have it hanging above my "worn and rugged" kitchen table. I have pics on my blog of that too. Hope you all have a great day. Sorry I've been missing, but I've had so much on my mind worrying about my mother. I had to go over late last night because dad couldn't find a pulse in her arm, but she's ok. Her blood pressure stayed pretty high yesterday and last night. She's feeling better today I think. Thanks again for all the prayers and please keep praying!
