Hey there,

I guess I should have known you were in Nashville by your screen name...LOL But I didn't until I was posting over in the Welcome Wagon meeting Tamara in Pikeville, TN and saw your post about being at the Franklin Farmers market most weekends.

I'm about 2 hours from you right now but I'm planning to move back to the Nashville area within the next 2-3 years. I'm so glad to meet someone that's there!

My last stay was when I owned a mini farm in Chapel Hill, TN..that was back in 1990 when Franklin was just starting to grow! The Saturn Plant was opening up around that time.

My parents used to live in Murfreesboro around that same time...I haven't been back except to drive through on the way to someplace else. I know Franklin and Murfreesboro have grown tremendously and that's the areas where I want to live.

Email me anytime...I'd love to chat with you about real estate and rental if you don't mind..and plus I need to know how to get to the farmer's market so we can drop by and see you when we come in for a day trip

Peace, Stephanie

Hey, thanks! I believe from looking at realtor, com that we can still buy in our price range out from Franklin or Murfreesboro...I have been to the tennessean.com several months ago when we decided we were going to move, I'll go do some new searches.

We have a home to sale here in northeast alabama (in case you know anyone looking for a very nice mid century mondern brick ranch style (built in 1953, 2050 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, custom goodies in the kitchen, sunroom, All of the walls and ceilings are the tongue and groove knotty pine) on 5 wooded acres...

The house was orinally built as a log cabin and I guess about 20 years ago when the surviving spouse started aging she decided to have the house bricked for low maintenance. We are the 2nd owners of the property since it was built..we thought that was pretty unique to find.

It's about 15 minutes north of Fort Payne, Alabama and about 3 miles off of I-59 interstate, We are actually in the city limits of a little bitty town (600) but we are rural and zoned agricultural so livestock and farming is allowed.

The farm across the road from me has 60 acres that takes in part a mountain ridge and our house is nestled into a ridge. It's absolutely beautiful here.

My mom's health is not good but my dad will live to be a 100! They live in Crossville, Tennessee but I know that one day dad will need to move back to Nashville to be closer to me and that's where he's from anyway.

Thanks for the info and I'll be emailing you...We'll meet in Chattanooga or Franklin one day soon!!

Stephanie

I live in Davidson. Ya don't want to live where I do. Feel free to email me.

If you are interested in finding acreage, might be worth talking to some of the vendors at my market.

franklinfarmersmarket.org explains where to find us! :-)

http://www.chattanoogamarket.com/ It has been recommended to me as a good place for me by a vendor I think is classy, so I may try it.

I know a good realtor in Brentwood who probably knows Franklin area stuff quite well.

tennessean.com can give you lots of rental info. Gives you a map of areas by number. Pick the number or numbers you want and it will give you stuff. :-)

No kids....just my Thomas, me and my 4 pound yorkie...we will ultimately need to rent a climate controlled storage room to put the majority of our stuff in and rent the smallest apartment we can and then proceed with finding a house to buy.

So really the first thing I need is a realistic idea of what an efficiency or a one bedroom nice apartment would cost us that allows a tiny doggie.

We don't want in a subdivision but don't want to be more than 15 minutes from all of the conveniences...An old smaller sized cottage with a basement or a partial basement for storage would be perfect on either a very large lot or a little land as long as most of it is wooded. I might like to own a pair dairygoats again if the property was located in proximity to convenience.

We are more into feeding wildlife than mowing a lawn

I had this idea location when I lived in Mobile, Alabama and I'm sure it exists....just will take a bit of looking.

Yes, you've seen a bunch of change go on for sure! What area do you live in?

Does the Chattanooga market have a website?

Talk to ya soon, Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

Sure. My comments about real estate would largely be predicated on whether or not you have kids or not. I have lived here almost two decades, so I have seen a lot of changes. Have thought about doing the Chattanooga Market so maybe I'll be down there some too! :-)
