Posted - Jul 11 2007 : 3:12:45 PM May I vent for just a minute? July 1: my washing machine broke down. It won't drain, rinse or spin. So now I'm forced to go to a laundry mat. Yuk!
July 2: DH comes home from work and says he thinks something is wrong with the car (we just bought this little Jetta to save money on gas). He says it feels like the brakes are seizing or something. After dinner, he decided to take it for a ride to try to figure out what was wrong with it. He got about a 1/2 mile up the highway when the right rear wheel came off (the whole wheel) and rolled off to the right and the car (out of control) veered to the left until he stopped in a bank of dirt and rock. Apparently, God was watching over him. It could have been so much worse. Another car could have been coming from the other direction. He could have been on his way to work and gone into the gorge, the river, a pond or the side of a mountain! Thank God it happened where it did.
July 3: My vaccuum cleaner made this noise like a jet engine shutting down and that is what it did. Dead as a gopher in the road. I have 3 shedding dogs. Not good.
July 6: Still don't have the 3-legged car home. No tow trucks up here are running. Everybody with a backhoe is out of town. Can't afford to pay a tow truck from Boise. Idaho State Police tagged the car to be towed! DH decided he would get a couple friends to help jack it up and chain the rear end of the car to the rear end of our truck. Great idea! NOT. The chains came off the car (dh still doesn't know how). The car passed him on the left(it is moving backwards)and it ran up a rocky berm removing half the bumper and the tail lights on the passenger side. What a mess! So then he dragged it off this hill and onto a dirt road so it wouldn't be towed until someone with a backhoe came home.
July 9: The 3-legged car is finally home. I drove our truck in front with flashers. The backhoe towed our car from the rear with my dh in it to steer. The backhoe driver's husband brought up the rear in their truck with flashers. 5 miles/hour down the highway and through town. Our little impromptu parade sure got a lot of long glances from folks. Now the car sits in the driveway up on blocks until we can afford to fix it.
I realize that my bad week is not so bad compared to other folks but I just had to vent.
Things are getting better, though. A friend sold me her old Kirby for $50. I found a great used washer that I will be picking up on Saturday. The car is, well, out of commission for a while. At least we have the truck, even if it is a gas pig. But, we'll get it done eventually.

Posted - Jul 11 2007 : 7:13:59 PM Lisa, That's been one very tough week for you and dh! Like the old cliche...."When it rains, it pours!" I hope that it's all done and over with now...it's all uphill for you. It's funny (or not) how everything seems to happen at once. We all go through it now and then...all the annoyances of life!

Posted - Jul 11 2007 : 4:30:03 PM Lisa, You made my day, I was wondering what in the world was with life lately. I get in the shower, and with this heat I needed one, the shower wash drops on my toe, ouch, then I have been working on doing little things for me, so I go to get my fash washclothes, instead of grabbing it, it flips through air, lands in the bottom of the tub with all the washclothes falling into the tub. Mind you, you get them wet to acitvate. There sits all of the clothes getting soaking wet. Got them all picked up, turned the shower off and decided that was it. Then as I stepped out of the shower I realized I completey forgot to wash my hair!!!! Good grief, I did dry the clothes in the sun and they work fine, my toe is better and life does go on. Yes, I did get back in and wash my hair. I do make myself laugh at times. Lisa, glad to hear that everything is coming around but don't ya sometimes just wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carol Sue
Enjoying the moments. |

Must be something in the air, everyone I know is having a tough week, at least I am hoping it is just a week. I hope things improve soon. Hugs, Kathy |
