We just found out that a mole removed from my husbands shoulder is malignant melanoma. We got word today that not all the cancer was removed the first time, so he will have to go in to have more removed, a chest x-ray and have his lymph nodes checked.
We have total faith in our Lord to see us through this, He has always been faithful. However, the human element has a hard time wrapping one's brain around this.
We have been married 26 years tomorrow, 3 beautiful girls, one SIL and one almost SIL. As a family we have our common faith in the Lord which is wonderful, but wouldn't mine the prayers of the masses.
If you will, please remember us. His next appointment is July 17th.
Thank you so much.

jeannie, just read Ps. 51. 10-13, great verses and a good reminder of how what God takes us through is for His glory and for the benifit of others, if indeed our hearts are right befor Him. Thanks!

Wow! Feeling overwhelmed and truly blessed! I knew I could count on you girls.
I will be praying for your DH, Sherri as he goes to the Dr. that all will be well.
Thanks Annie for your words of strength from,"being there" before.
God is good and that I know. I heard a song the other day it had a line in it that said, "I trust you (God)not for what you do but for who You are." That has been my mantra lately.
Thanks again for your prayers for Dale and I. You girls are great~

Julia, I thought you might like to know what good your posting did in our family. My DH has had a mole on his neck, (his throat really) that has gotten bigger over the past year. He left home at 15 and supported himself for years by working on a farm, and he works outdoors now out in the sun and I"ve always been worried about melanoma. I have been begging and pleading with him to go to the doc and have it checked out but he always says "I don't have time - it's nothing" "don't worry" Well, after I read your post - I got more assertive and I told him I was making an appointment - I would find someplace that he could go after he got off work, up in Seattle, so he had no excuse. He finally agreed - I guess I wore him down. He has an appointment now for July 24. I am so sorry for the news you got, but take some comfort in knowing that by sharing it, you helped our family immensely. My mantra for your DH and mine will be "As I believe, so it will be." Positive thoughts.

Julia, my loving thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family from now on. I know what you're going through - my husband has skin cancer too and has undergone several removals over the past 6 months. Luckily he has a wonderful local doctor and a dermatoligist who has been treating him an hour away from where we live. He's had leukemia and made it, a brain tumor and made it and also found out he has diabetes as well. But he keeps his spirits up somehow. We just lost his mother last week (she was 93) to stomach cancer, so he's had a lot on his plate the past few months. But God only gives us what we can handle and with a deep conviction of his love and guidance we muster through. We will keep you in our prayers and thoughts and know that our loving arms are holding you through your journey.

Annie

Julia, I've added your dh to my prayer list. If you are comfortable doing this, could you share his first name, either here or by email? Thanks!
