Hi Ladies!

I know a lot of you like to know more about renewable resources and alternate energy sources. Wyoming has a huge wind farm that stretches for miles and miles. It is between Laramie Wyoming and Rawlins Wyoming. Here is a link so you can see some pictures of the windmills and learn more about the project.

There is even a picture of a windmill with a person standing at the base by his big truck. It shows how large these structures are.

My parents took my sister and I to see them when they were first being build at another location. We laid underneath the windmills and looked up to see the big arms rotating. It gives you a sense of vertigo, but is really amazing and you hear this amazing "Thump, Thump, Thump" as the blades turn in the air! I love the fact that a pretty desolate part of Wyoming is being utilized in such a manner. It is kind of need to see miles upon miles of these white windmills stretching out on the horizon.

The ones at Ryegrass which is on the way to Ellensburg, Washington are really cool. Driving across you can see them in rows from the freeway right before you cross over the Columbia River. It is awesome for me to see them use the wind. Especiially there cause it is always windy.

Life is short, enjoy every moment.

I wanted to get a picture of the wind farm from the highway and realized I had left my camera at home (Silly Alee!). The pictures on these sites must be a few years old because the Wind Farm has grown considerably! There are at least 4 rows of windmills and they stretch from Arlington, WY to Rawlins, WY. One of those sites says that there are 96 windmills. I think there are much more than that now. There are also some smaller black windmills as well. It is so amazing! It makes me want to have a windmill!

We now have a windfarm in eastern Washington, near Ryegrass. It is really awesome to see. DH went flying with a friend last weekend and took some aerial photos, absolutely beautiful. I love the wind and can't help but like the idea of harnessing the power.

DH just bought a windmill for our cabin. We don't have it hooked up yet, but it is MUCH smaller than this. I can't wait to get it going. That with a couple of solar panels means refrigeration AND sewing at the cabin.

Wow!! They have some windmills like this in Judith Gap Montana too, they are truly awesome. I passed some big trucks carrying the blades on the freeway. One blade per huge semi. If you've never seen these in person, you can't believe how big they are. How awesome that we're finally getting smart about wind power.
