Patrick, my mailman, was my hero yesterday because he delivered a very special package to me......the apron from Kathie that was my prize for being the winner of her "Guess who Kathie is in this photo" contest.

Picture this, if you will....

My oldest daughter, Abby(20), and youngest daughter, Eliana(6) come in with the mail. Eliana's shouting, "you have a package momma, can I open it?" I look to see who it's from, realize what it is, resist the urge to tear into in myself, and and sweetly answer, "sure honey."
She tries her best to open it, but Kathie really, really used LOTS of tape and she was having a hard time. I come with a knife and slit the tape and hand it back to her. She ever so gently removes a package wrapped in tissue paper and tied with a yellow ribbon. By this time, 14 year old Raquel and 2 year old Mark have come to see what the fuss is about. Eliana unties the bow, starts to unwrap it and we're all standing around anxiously looking to see what it contains. The oohing begins as we get a glimpse of something that is yellow and green...ooh, here it comes...a bright cheery apron with lemons is what I see. I take it out and hold it up to myself as the oohing and aahing continues. Eliana says, It's an apron...you already have enough aprons, to which I remark, "a girl can never have too many aprons." And in reply she says in her cutest little 6 year old voice, "you're right, and I only have one." What a sweetie she is!

Anyway, without further adieu....here is a large picture of the apron so you can really see the wonderful print and detail of the apron. Also, the bowl of fruit salad that I'm holding is from the recipe that Karin shared here. http://maryjanesfarm.com/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11268

I hate having my picture taken, but this is me modeling the apron...

And if the apron wasn't enough of a surprise, Eliana noticed that there was something in the apron pocket. So what did I pull out? The cutest little mini apron...my very first!! So here it is. Notice the little lemon on the front...it's a tiny pocket...oh so cute!

Kathie, thank you, thank you so very much. I hope you can tell how much I love it. And my oldest daughter was so impressed with it, that she wants to use it as a pattern and make a skirt from it. She really likes the zig-zag edge.

Thanks again,
~~Anne
