Ok, here I am, I have been off the MJF forum for a week, wow-have I missed a lot!
Any ways, *fast forward* we did get up to Washington after all the feascal with my job....we found a builder w/a home he had just built(he built the home our daughter bought as well)...bought it....got back to Calif, Tuesday late...I went to work, my Volunteers had a surprise party & "celebraty type" rost for me...lots-a-tears ...have 3 moving companies coming tomorrow to give us bids on moving our household & vehicles to Wash...am behind on Thank-you cards, 1 swap project & birthday gifts. But...am excited as all get out to move,,,we head out July 16th, 1 mini motorhome, 2 humans, 4 cats & 1 litter box....oh heaven help us! lol!
That's it in a nut shell!
Now I have to head off to work.
farm girl hugz,
oh wait,,, forgot to tell you the best part... 1 house, 5 acres of sandy loom soil and a beautiful view of Mt. Spokane.
We bought in a little community called Medical Lake, WA.
So, as I have said before, once we get moved & setteled in, I will be hosting a MJF Tea Party for those of you that can come play.
Till then, tata-4-now

Buttercup, there you are, haven't seen you @MJF lately,,,,or am I in need of new reading glasses?LOL!
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Laura, I am probably, from what I have been told, about a 3 hour drive to Seattle, but hey thats not so bad, You all have Trader Joes there, none in Spokane yet,,,,so I may have to plan some "field trips to Seattle to get my Trader Joes fix!!! hahaha!

Kathy, if there are fish up there in Moses Lake, we'll probablly be up there! DH loves to fish.

Joann, men are funny,,,they just don't understand the fine art of tea & conversation.

Carol Sue, thanx for the heads up on Brambleberry Cottage....I will be checking it out.
Hmmm, might have to make it one of my very first "things to do" when I get to Medical Lake ~ Spokane.

And now to finish my cup of Lavender/mint tea.

Grace You will be just down the road from us in Moses Lake. Well not "just" down the road but about an hour or so. Congrats on the new life. Retirement is so fun.

People love high teas! My friend runs a rustic B & B north of me near the Canadian border. She decided to do a high tea. Her husband wasn't so eager and didn't think people would make the long drive,
in the end, he wore his black tie jacket, a top hat
and of course, jeans and cowboy boots to welcome the guests. The high tea was a sell out. JoAnn P.S. I took her to Maryjane's Farm and she loved the outdoor bedroom so they constructed an "outdoor bedroom" basically a cabin with no walls. It's darling

Hey Grace,
In Spokane there is a place that has high tea called Brambleberry Cottage, it is in an old house and is fun to go to. OUr quilt group has done it a couple of times. In fact one of the gals there is going to most likely buy it. She loves teas. In fact she has spoiled us more than once doing a high tea. Gosh, I can't wait to get to meet you.
Hang on that time will fly while you get ready to go.

Between the antiques, vintage table linens, tea pots & cups/saucers,,,I could open up my own tea parlor, but not sure if I could make a living doing so. But it would be fun to find a Victorian or Craftsman style cottage to turn into a tea parlor. Complete w/lace curtains & maybe a Harp in the parlor for ambience. oh, insert: deep sign of wishful thinking.....

Kool, Kool & way Kool.....
I love hosting High Teas,,,,,scones, homemade jams, Josh Grobin music & silly hats....keep your fingers crossed that the movers don't break my china tea cups...I have quit the collection.
The tea party is for all who want to come. I think I will plan it for the later part of August, I should be setteled in by then.
I can hardly wait....only 31 days before I pull into my new driveway...but who's counting! LOL!

Dear Grace,
Yippeee skipeee, Can,'t wait to have a tea party with you. I live maybe 15 minutes away from Medical Lake on the west side of Spokane. WE moved back 7 years ago due to my dh's parents health. We are so glad that we did. Wouldn't have missed that short time with both of them for anything.
We shall have to introduce you to some fun places around here. Can't wait. Safe journey.

Oh it is sooooo awesome, Our babygirl (30 yr old daughter) & her DH have also bought a home, just 1 1/2 miles down the road, infact they have to drive by ours when head into town.
My DH & I do not have to return to work, but I suspect that after 3 months we will both get a bit antsy & look for part time jobs or volunteer work,,, I can see it now, he on the street corner with one of those cardboard signs that reads " will work for golf & fish fees" and I will be on the opposite corner with a sign that reads, "will work for crafting supplies" LOL!
I am so greatful that we stuck diligently to our plan for retirement and now here we are, able to retire and 53years old and we have our health and a new journey in life. What a blessing.
I know those first 3 months will be exhausting, getting setteled in and all. Meeting our farm neighbors and finding a new church home. Plus we plan to explore every nook & crany of the Spokane area. (insert happy dance here!)

Congrats to you Grace! Does your daughter live up there as well? If so are you all "dialed in" as far as a job and stuff...that would make it so much easier to settle in
