you gurlz be careful if you get on one .. and same for your honies!

what 'safety' precautions do you all suggest?

Stay off the slopes! My dd had a first responder again just last week...tractor overturned down into the creek. Fortunately this call had a good outcome, well compared to some, but this fella was lucky and was seen roll.

Gives me the heebie jeebies. I get in enough trouble with a shovel, rake, and hoe.

For safety, I would suggest some way to check in with someone maybe every 1/2 hour (CB? cell phone?). Not very practical with such long hours in the field, but it is such a one-person job no one is right there if you need help. If you miss a check in, at least someone could go check on you.

A relative of ours had a terrible accident with a combine (the grain harvesting machine) and luckily an EMT drove by at the right time and saw his muddy hand waving from the ground where he was pinned. So now I always look carefully when I see farm equipment running, checking for the operator.

We make a difference.
