Our family, my daughter's daycare, her speech therapist and her family all made it out to the Autism Speaks walk in GA yesterday. It was a great day to be out and about. They were expecting 10,000 people but I suspect there was more than that! It was great to be out there with so many people that understand if your child is acting up or is over whelmed. My daughter, Audrey had lots of fun and there were many activities for the kids. Face painting, balloon animals, bubble makers, sand tables, and about 10 inflatable bounce houses and slides. It was like going to a free carnival. Our team so far has $1780 in donations to our team and we are expecting another $1500 on Monday or Tuesday. We just had a raffle on Friday at my daughter's daycare for a Nintendo Wii system, 2 rounds of golf at a local golfcourse, $25 gift certificates to local restaurants and a basket of goodies including a signed copy of Mary Jane's Lifebook! We sold over 125 tickets and made over $600 just in raffle tickets sales. Our goal was to make over $3000 in donations and it looks like we will reach and exceed our goal. It was so nice to be out there and and big THANK YOU to Mary Jane and everyone on the farm to donate her book. I know there were several people looking through it at the daycare and was hoping to win the basket. The entire walk was a success and I was told that they have over $900,000 in total donations for all the teams and more money was expected to come in. We were so grateful to be there and it was a wonderful experience.

Ayako-

It sounds like a wonderful day! Congrats on such sucessful fund raising! It is always so refreshing when fundraising for a good cause goes so well. It make me feel so much better about my neighbors out there.
