A year or so back I bought a quilt made by/for the Atkinson family in Shepard, Montana. It's applique and edges not in the best shape, but I had to rescue it. I've tried to make contact with the family by calling those listed in the phone book, but no one has returned my calls. I really would love this to get back to the family. One square has a rural mailbox with their name and R.R 1 on it. How it got to Carson City Nevada and donated to a thrift shop is a mystery. If anyone is one a genealogical list, and would care to post this, maybe that would help. I know it's a long shot, but worth a try.

I'm always rescuing some thing, usually a textile..from the dealers if nothing else :) That's why I have enough doilies, pillowcases, dresser scarves and such for everyone in this state and maybe Utah too! Quilts too, but not quite so many. I'm waiting for my husband to ask why the mattress is so high, with a lot of cutter quilts I can't bear to cut under it.
I will try again to make contact with the family who should have this quilt.

Ronna-

That is very kind of you. You never know when you might "bump" into someone that you are looking for. It truly is a small world!
