I got a email change in my box the other day but most times I don't reconize the e-mail name because if I e-mail someone from here, I just click on the member & I don't pay attention to the e-mail name. Pretty dumb I guess but I am not computer savvy although I most times think Im getting a bit better!!

I found out who it was..I had notified everyone on my email list of a change of email address..and well..there was a mix up..the gal in charge of the yahoo list thought that I was notifying her about a change of address on the group she runs(didn't even know she had a yahoo group until today..ha), when in fact it was just to let all my friends/addresses on my email list know about my change of email addy.
But anyhow..it's all fixed now.(sheew..big sigh of relief..and I hope she won't hate me too much after this cause I think she's "one of us farmgals"..yikes)

That is so weird. I didn't know you had to push a button to NOT be added without permission to groups. Jeesh! I will have to look at that and do it. So many little things like that ...how are we supposed to keep up!!??

well..I think it is someone that is a member of MJforum here..and also someone on our email list to recieve Small Town Living.
I guess the bottom line is...
if you have a yahoo group that you run..
extend an "Invite" first..and allow the person the right to "Choose"
what they'd like to do.
That's the jist of this post.
Allow folks their right to choice.

I get every now & then a letter form someone in Utah w/ Jehovia (??) witness stuff. I don't want it, Im not a Jev. witness & I dont like getting that stuff but have no idea who it is. I dont know anyone out there. I asked once on here if it was someone from this forum but no one responded. I dont like it either.

I can see how that would be really frustrating for you. I am glad you found the privacy button! As much as we are all open and friendly here, I think our privacy is still an important asset. *hugs*

well, I wouldn't have minded knowing about the group..as I do get down towards the Sarasota area from time to time..but what kind of aggravated me..was that I didn't recieve an "invite" first..and the moderator of the group just assumed I'd be interested.
I did feel a bit like my privacy/right to choose was being encroached upon.
