Thought I would share this web site with you. I did a search & didnt come up with anything. Not sure if you have visited this before, but Bill Coleman's photos of the Amish are beautiful. I was so excited when I got to meet him a few years ago at an art festival here & he is the sweetest man. Here is the link...I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

July...I seem to recall July being the month. I know that the University (Penn State) isn't in full session, it's summer session time...*no way* they could hold it during a regular semester. It takes half of the PSU campus plus most of surrounding downtown area, too. I remember that we bought the unframed photos. ~ K

I am glad you are all enjoying them. I haven't gotten any of his photos yet... but they're on my wish list!  One of my favorites is the tree with the 4 seasons.
Kaylyn... I wish I still lived up that way. Sounds like a lot of fun. Being in TX is a little to far for that trip, even though I love his work. What time of year do they have the festival? Maybe if I was on vacation in NY I could do it? Even if not this year. Thanks for the info, I will have to check it out.

Thanks for posting the link, Kelly. I love the photos....very beautiful! They are the type of photos that I can stare into and transform me to a place of peace and serenity. What a beautiful life! |

I have three Coleman photos hanging on my wall in my living room - Amish No. 690, Amish No. 208, and Samuel & Henry. I *LOVE* Bill Coleman's work - it is just fabulous. At the time (hmmm...13 years ago???) he was living in central PA and photographing a group of Amish there. He was working his booth at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts which is held in State College, PA annually. I'm assuming he's still there - I'm on the dial-up dinosaur, and the page isn't loading, so I can't read his current bio info.
Oh, yeah...if you're in the vicinity. The *entire* town of State College becomes the festival and it takes nearly a full day to do the entire circuit. It is *so* worth it if you live in northwestern MD, southwestern NY, northeastern OH, or essentially anywhere in PA and like a good juried *artisan* show. ~ K

So beautiful. I love photos of the Amish. There is (usually) such a peace about them. I say "usually" because the Lest you Be Offended series is quite eye-opening!! lol
