Bexten and I found a small visitor hanging out in our garage. He scared me to death because I turned around and almost stepped on him. I must have scared him too because he hid under our generator. Snakes are not my favorite visitors when they make it inside, but I bet he was just trying to get out of the rain. I will be fine as long as he stays out of the house!

Ha ha Debbie, I wouldn't say I was calm! I avoided the garage for hours and then sent my boys out when they got home from school to see if it was still in there. Luckily they don't mind snakes!
Heather, that same day I seen a large wolf spider on my stairs! I threw my hands up and said I was done for the day lol!
Terri, I am fine if they are outside, especially if I don't have to deal with them. But the second they come inside I freak out. Many years ago shortly after I got married I found a snake in my living room. It freaked me out so bad that I climbed on the couch and called my husband to come home from work to come get it! But then you would never believe that when I worked at a day care I allowed the snake expedition guy to place a very large snake around my neck. I was just trying to be brave for the kids but I was terrified!

Mom found one in her shower and I found one in the basement last month.A friend was visiting at the time of Mom's discovery. He disposed of hers. I didn't tell here about the one in the basement. I threw it out in the field and I think my dog disposed of it. I don't mind them outside, though I really do not like them at all.
Best thing about freezing temps, no snakes!

Gave me a jump just seeing the picture! I was expecting a big spider. If I seen something like that at my campsite I think I'd go home. There's no way I'd be getting any sleep!!!

Judith, we came across a couple of rattlesnakes this summer. They scare me and I worry about my kids or dogs running into them while we camp.
We seen this one on the road to our campsite.

Looks like a gopher snake-- a good one to have around. I'm not afraid of snakes, unless they rattle, but I don't like to be startled by anything.
