I was given this "recipe" for window cleaner by a lady who worked in a glass shop and it works great...you may never want to buy commercial cleaner again.

1 gallon container
1 pint of rubbing alcohol
1 Tablespoon "Joy" dish soap...has to be Joy (lemon)

Put the soap and rubbing alcohol in container fill with water. Then you may want to fill squirt bottles.

No streaking..smells nice...very inexpensive. Let me know how you like it.

Thanks, Jamie

Yes I think it would be fine for vinyl windows...there is nothing harsh in it. Jamie Ann

Can anyone tell me if they use this on vinyl windows?

We're getting our windows replaced next week with vinyl so I have to stop using vinegar. I would like to use something *other than* a commercial window cleaner with all of those chemicals. They don't work well and they stink! ~ K

Also, what works for me is just plain club soda - bubbles or no, it doesn't matter - I think I'll try the Joy mixture for the stubborn spots, too - thanks, Jamie!

Thanks so much for posting this! I'll write it down and give it a try. Have you tried it on other surfaces?
