I was feeling a little (okay, a LOT) pallid and yucky this morning, and have cleared out my makeup - it was all so out of date that I tossed it ALL and will start over with the basics when I decide what I want - but ANYWAY, I wanted a little color in my face, thinking that if I looked healthier, maybe I'd feel better? So I took about a tablespoon of regular lotion (I use Lubriderm) and added two drops of red food coloring and mixed it in my palm, then used it as blush and lipstick - it didn't taste great, but it sure did a nice job of making me look like I had just taken a brisk walk! Make-do at its finest!!!

I'm laughing again! I am sure it looked cute. I just imagined red food coloring and WOAH! LOL!

Now you all have ME laughing! No, it didn't seem to stain - it wasn't THAT red!!! AND, I was careful to blend it in so I didn't have the Raggedy Ann look, although, that's a Halloween idea for you! How funny!!! It just seemed to fade away - not really wash off or stay on. Kind of like those semi-permanent haircolors, I guess...

You know, I didn't think of the second glass... now THERE's an IDEA!

Yeah libbie I am wondering too if the stain came off! Very cute idea but in my mind I see you looking a little like raggedy anne with those bright red circles on your cheeks! You should post some pictures!!!!

Had to laugh when I read your post...tell me, did the food coloring stain overnight or does it wash off? I would love the idea of putting on "make-do" just once a week, or so! A little lotion the next few days to perk it up...what a timesaver!
