Does anyone have a natural remedy to repel bites. They just love me all year round! I'm not allowed to use any perfumes, or chemical type base on my skin

Heather - may I ask? Do you mix tree tea oil with water and spray it on to prevent bites? Or do you mean you use it after you have a bite??

Laurie, that's interesting I will have to try that. I have used lavender essential oil to relieve the itching and swelling of mosquito bites and deer fly bites with great success, but if I can avoid that altogether I would be one happy camper  Thanks for sharing :)

The natural insect repellent works great. Also, if you have a patio, try a Citronella plant. My dad is in Houston and they have massive mosquitos. He bought a Citronella plant and he says when you sit in that area, it's amazingly bug free.
If you get a bite, stop the itch by putting a "wagon wheel" on it...gently "mash" the bite with your fingernail (not hard enough to break the skin, just hard enough to make temporary mark) in a wagon-wheel pattern. It stops the bite's itch for awhile.

I use lavender hydrosol. Spray it on and repeat as needed. it's the byproduct of distilling for the oil, so all natural. We were up in the NF and the mosqitoes were everywhere. We never got bit.

I am VERY against ticks, both my grandmother and a little boy of my friends almost died from Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever. My grandma lived in the mountains, little boy did not!
Any way....one I am inclined to use, since it even works on LICE! Is tea tree oil!

Avon Skin-So-Soft oil works very well to repel all types of insects, dryer sheets can be placed in a pocket, under a hat, tucked into a sock or rubbed on the skin, a teaspoon of vanilla extract stirred into a cup of water, put into a spray bottle and mist your skin also works. I'm more inclined to use repellants now since several cases of lime disease in our area from ticks.

Last evening, I helped weed the garden area. Mosquitos all over the place. When I have bananas, I'll take the peels and rub the inside on my arms and legs and neck. Works for me.

Interesting, if it doesn't work against mosquitos, at least I will be smelling fresh lol

I never tried it, but read somewhere that if you put a Bounce dryer sheet in your back pocket, that will work as an insect repellant.
