I recently found a use for an unopened package of bobby pins I've had sitting around for ages. As I've been going through craft and recipe books putting my holiday plans in order, I needed a good way to book mark many different recipes in the same book easily. I had one of those light bulb moments and started marking pages with the bobby pins slid over the top of the pages that I wanted. They are easy to spot and really do the trick nicely!

I just love the idea of bobby pins as book page markers - effective, neat & tidy!! Move over scraps of Kleenex - here come the bobby pins!!! :-) Anne

I love this tip! I could use the bobby pins that no longer have soft ends. They end up scratching my head so I throw them away. This is a good way to repurpose them!

Great ideas. I just bought some of the mini-bobby pins to roll my (fine) hair for this summer to keep it off my neck. I think I'll put pretty buttons on them first. Thanks for that tip Debra!

Another thing I learned last week using bobby pins. Put a shiny button on it and put it into your hair.
Very pretty.

Good tip! I think I'll try it on the book I'm reading. Thanks!

My husband uses my bobby pins in his shop to take the place on clothes pins on the smaller bags. He had a fit when I told him I don't use the bobby pins anymore, and I was going to throw them away.

Thanks Annika for the tip. I will be using it for more than my cookbooks.
