It's been really hot here sometimes, and the fact that I'm in my 7th month of pregnancy doesn't help any. I made up some cooling gel to rub on my legs, arms, chest and neck, and it's really helping! I thought I'd post the "recipe" in case anyone else was in need of a little cooling-off...

Cooling body gel

1/2 Cup aloe vera gel (I used whole-leaf gel)
1 1/2 tsp. arrowroot powder
1 Tbsp. witch hazel (I just used the stuff you can buy at the store)
4 drops peppermint essential oil
4 drops lemon essential oil

Mix everything except the essential oils in a glass bowl. Heat in the microwave until it turns clear and about the thickness of honey, but not quite - I heated it in 30-second increments and stirred between each one. Make sure it doesn't bubble over! You can also use a double-boiler on the stove, I was just in a hurry - overheating and all!

Wait for it to cool and stir in the essential oils. I store mine in the refrigerator for that extra "kick."

Enjoy!!!

XOXO, Libbie

Libbie- That just sounds heavenly. It is off to the store for me to get the EOs. Not only will it make you cool, but I bet you will smell nice as well!

Thanks Libbie,

Sounds great and I think I have all the ingredients. I'm gonna try some of this and keep in the fridge for this summer.
