Teething issues? With all three of my children I steep cloves in a tea kettle and let the kettle cool completely. Then dip the washcloth in the clove water and freeze it. Whenever it is teething time I give my fussy little baby the washcloth to chew on. It always works well and chemical free! Not to mention that I love the smell:)

My 5 month old was giving me a fit tonight. I was not prepared for teething. BUT you can bet that I have some washcloths in the freezer now!

I love cloves, what great uses for it! I love the ginger tea idea, too!
Back to teething, I used to give my oldest daughter frozen green beans to gnaw on when she was teething! She's 24 and still loves fresh green beans!

Hopefully this isn't too far off topic, but another thing that really helps with nasal and chest congestion is ginger tea with lemon and honey. Ginger tea as in you take a medium thin slice of ginger root and steep it in hot water.

We also use cloves for a cough. I boil 3-4 cloves in 1 cup of water x 10 minutes with approx 1 Tbsp of honey and then let it cool. We had terrible colds/coughs recently and this helped a lot!

I have been suckin on cloves for over a week now. I have major teeth issues and the cloves work better than pain pills. I put ground clove all along my gums just before goin to bed and my hubby loves my goodnight kisses right now. He says I taste like pumpkin pie! I'll get my teeth taken care of as soon as the insurance kicks in. My hubby just got a new job this week. Come on March!!!

I'll vouch for this one, too - my mom always let us suck on a clove if we had anything sore in our mouths - from teething to a scraped gum from a corn chip. I sure wish I'd known about steeping them in water and dipping a washcloth in it - that's great!!!

XOXO, Libbie

Wow! That is exciting to hear. My grandson is right in the midst of teething and I'd like to try it. How many cloves do you use? If you use EO, how much? Thanks for the tip! I guess you're never too old to learn...thank goodness!

Have you ever noticed the smell of cloves at the dentist?

Clove oil has been used for centuries to ease the pain of a toothache!

I love the scent of cloves....

We use amber necklaces and swear by them!! We lost DS's so he's been rocking mine until Santa can bring him a new one. It really takes the edge off and helps with drooling.

I also mix a tiny bit of therapeutic grade clove EO with some coconut oil and rub it on his gums. I triednitnon myself first and it has a nice numbing effect.

Just wondering if any of you has tried the Amber jewelry that is out for babies. It looks really nice and has been said to improve the crankyness that babies suffer from while teething. I have included a website. There are many out there, just thought I would suggest it to you all.

When I was teething, my dad made frozen cucumber spears for me to gnaw on. I think the clove smell would be absolutely lovely, too!
