I don't know if Hubby is trying to toughen me up and lose my babyfat or if he is trying to kill me.

We have been working on the yards getting ready for sale. First, he had me demo a fence then haul the new slats back to him while he dug and poured cement for the posts.
Today he is making a French drain and set me to the HIW to get 3 bags of river rock. Tried to lift one and realized I didn't wear enough mascara to bat my eyes and get assistance. So, I put my true farmgirl on, used proper lifting technique and got all 3 bags on the cart. I also had to buy this really long pipe for the drain.
Ok now I am trying to push the cart with the rocks and beanstock long pipe through the HIW without hitting or ramming any other shoppers, a feat in itself. Paid for my stuff and got back to the pickup. Thought again "Farmgirls Rule!" and loaded everything in the bed. Drove home, got my lady girl on and told Hubby he can unload the pickup hisself. I am now having a cup of tea

Wow, these are some amazing home projects going on here!, I am impressed because neither hubby or I have much skill in the making new revisions department! Hubby was able to do a wonderful job painting and wall papering my office area that is what I refer t as my log cabin. I am so impressed what you Farmgirls did on your own! Thanks for sharing all of these cool home DIY projects!,

Farm girls rock.... and roll!

I've been working on our downstairs bathroom. Dh mudded the ceiling and I sanded and primed some of the ceiling,it's not completed yet. Primed the walls the ceiling and trim are next and then painting it all. Had to stop to get ready to travel so will finish when I return.
Can't wait to get it done and put up new shelves and a new vanity. One project at a time.

I can't wait till my mother-in-law comes back and sees them. I think these are her favorite colors.

Based on an idea from Better Homes & Gardens, I bought two rolls of shelf liner and with a little measuring and math (no Algebra though, ha!), I pasted them on the risers.

Saved a bundle!

There is nothing like getting your hands dirty and doing a project yourself. I have done many around our home, with little help from the hubby. I love knowing that most of the tools in the garage are there because I said we needed them.

HELP! I am living in a 90s American SitCom. I came home this week only to find this big hole in my kitchen ceiling and a lot of dust all over my kitchen. Tim the Tool man aka Hubby believes in the idea of asking for forgiveness rather than permission. He wanted to put in cam lights but found out they can't go where he wants them. Now he has to fix it back the way it was. He needs to come out of retirement. Sigh

Yep, that sounds like my husband. Around here I do the fixing, I tarred holes on the barn roof, I dug and replaced the corner fence post, fixed the door, ect. A few years ago when I was at work I got a frantic phone call from my daughter, dad is going to show me how to change the oil in my truck, you got to stop him mom, you know it won't go right. And it didn't, LOL. Hugs Karla

Must say I am impressed by what you FarmGirls accomplish and love hearing about it.

The other day I tightened a loose screw in backdoor doorknob but my days of heavy lifting and climbing on ladders are gone.

I've assembled my mother-in-law's rocking chair, replace a broken handle on a screen door, and helped replace a broken inside door handle on a Chevy Aveo. Also making wine solo (DH only needed for heavy lifting).

You rock, Nancy! No pun intended! :)

DH has been working on our laundry room. I helped him prep textured ceiling tiles for gluing up on ceiling - we ran out with just a little bit left to go DANG IT so waiting on the additional ones we ordered.

Once all tiles are up we'll caulk the seams and paint it all white again to give it a more finished look.

Have been helping him with painting of walls in there too.

He's got new the cabinets built - one with a bay for laundry baskets which is awesome!

There is a bit white ceramic farmer's sink waiting to go in as well! And the countertops he is building for the cabinets are awesome - they are wood and it's hard to describe - I'll share pics once done!

Other small projects lately have been painting then installing new hardware on the under bed drawers in DS's room - old ones were very modern with sharp edges - not good.

And adding wheels to pull out trash bin (instead of slides which were getting warped)...

Sounds normal, but at least Hubby is helping some. More than I can say at my house. He's good at thinking jobs up but little time to get anything done so its left up to me. Be sure to continue to lift safely.
