Has anybody tried making the hammock in MaryJane's book? I tried the search engine but couldn't find any mention of anyone doing it.

I just finished my first one that was a Christmas present and it was a lot of fun! Not nearly as hard as I'd expected and I learned so much!

Anyone else done one of these?

I haven't made one yet, but I plan to. I have a friend who makes a Brazilian style hammock called a hedgie. The body is made out of cotton fabric with twine ends...like, Libbie, I think I may get myself tied up trying to make a string hammock.

OH, Hammocks!! Since I have been so sick and in so much pain this fall/winter, I have been using visual imagery and imagining myself in a hammock...that gentle swing, back, forth, and the way your body just "relaxes" without any pressure on any joint...
Oh, I love hammocks.
I *really* would love to see a picture of the one you made!
Hopefully, I will feel much better this spring, and I can make one too!
....after I get all the laundry caught up!!

I'm so excited to hear of someone trying this - I want to make one, too! I just haven't dared to do it, since I'm prone to tangling myself up in string sometimes. Congratulations!!! Niamh - is there any way you can post a picture? I would just LOVE to see it - hammocks are so comfortable - I have this vision of myself rocking gently in the breeze between two of our trees, taking a little nap on a summer day - I'm so inspired! Thanks!!!

XOXO, Libbie
