Hi girls,
I recently learned about this software option from our computer tech person at work. It's called OpenOffice.org. What it is is an alternative to Microsoft programs that you have to pay extra for.

This interested me because I had to purchase a new computer recently. It did not come with Word or Excel loaded on it (it has WordPad- not impressive). I could use them, or activate them, and pay a fee to do so, but I wasn't prepared to fork out more money yet.

OpenOffice.org offers FREE programs that are compatable with all Microsoft Word and Excel, Powerpoint and Draw programs, plus some more that I wasn't familiar with. You just download it from the web at http://openoffice.org It is an international effort that is available in all languages!! They accept donations, or help with programming and marketing, so you can give back while being involved.

Check it out! It may be something that is useful to you. too!

Also compatiable with linux and unix

Yes we use this on our computer and have for a long time we use Linux. My husband disagrees with microsofts practices as unethical and will not use anything they have made. He is a softwear developer for linux and unix based programs. Linux is an entirely free share ware software we have been using it for over 14 years he has used it longer than that. Very usueful and the people who do make this type of softwear do it because they want a better product not because they want lots of gain.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe my blog http://sunshinescreations.blogspot.com
