Here are some recipes I've had for a couple of years. They were given to me by one of my clients when I was working in a salon and are tried and true. If anyone has any others to share let know please.

Thanx, Lainey Lou

Facial Scrub
1 cup of oatmeal

1 cup of almonds

1/2 cup of honey

Combine ingredients in a blender until smooth. Scrub on face. Remove with a washcloth and then rinse with cold water.

This scrub can be applied every day.

Body Scrub
1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 coarse salt

2 tablespoons of avocado oil

1/4 cup of your favorite liquid soap

Juice from either 1/2 a grapefruit or 1 lemon

Grated lemon or lime peel

1/2 cup chopped cranberries

1/4 cup of rose salt

2 tablespoons of an essential oil -- Lavender is a favorite

Mix together all ingredients in a bowl. When in the shower, rub all over from head to toes. Rinse with cold water -- as cold as you can stand it.

Use once a week.

Corn Starch Facial
1/2 cup corn starch

1/4 cup water

Mix into a paste. Moisten face and then apply paste in a circular motion. After face is completely covered, rinse with cool water.

Morning Drink
1 cup warm water

2 tablespoons lemon juice

3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

"This mix is a great way to start the day. It not only cleanses the body, but boosts the metabolism."

You are welcome. Please post your zucchini recipe if you find it, I'm always interested in stuff like that.

Have a great day!

There were some in the last Country Woman magazine I think. I have to see if any look good. We make a zucchini mask in the summer. I'll have to get the recipe from the girls for that too.

Thanks for the recipes.

The only thing I've ever used is baby oil mixed with water in a small bottle and shaken well just before use. It is no 'recipe' so to speak, just cheaper than the store bought stuff which is basically made of the same stuff. Hope that helps you a bit 'cause that's all I've got.

Lainey, I'm a big fan of those facial cleansing cloths they sell but am not happy with some of the ingredients they use or the cost. I use them at night to remove my makeup (eyes also). Do you or any of the other farmgirls have a recipe that I could use to make my own? I was just using some plain old water and that works but thought I'd see if anyone has other ideas?

Audrey

Good boy Hobbs! I love and miss you.

The only one that I have ever kept is the body scrub. It lasts a good while, I remember making it and using it till it was all gone and it never seemed to go bad. I used it several times a week as I have skin that is very dry on my legs and arms. The other recipes were only big enough for one maybe two uses, If I didn't use them completely up I would put them in a container and keep them in the refrigerator, but only for a few days. Hope this info helps you.

Thanks for sharing! Do you know how long these recipes keep?

Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to try these out. Anything that is natural and cost effective is what I'm looking for these days. Can't believe the prices on some of the stuff you find at the drug stores or Target, etc.

Thanks for the great ideas. I have always been interested in making my own facial products. These are great ideas to mix things up a bit. My favorite is cornmeal mixed with a little honey for a scrub. I can't wait to try the cornstarch facial.
