I just wanted to share how blessed we are in our community. My husband was starting to cut down an Arizona Cypress tree in our backyard today. Just as he had begun, he got a call from a friend, who when hearing he was taking down a tree, said he'd be right over with his new "little giant" ladder and a chainsaw. Then the guy behind us sees what's going on, so he comes over to help and sharpen chains! We get the first tree down and the second is looking a little shakey, so my wonderful nextdoor neighbor sends her son to help on the pull line. So, here it is, 4pm; two trees down; fence damaged and repaired; wonderful friends and neighbors around us. I hope that you all are blessed...especially when you need it most!
Many hands making light work,

We have wonderful neighbors around us at our house in Angleton. We all help each other out.

Now in Groesbeck it's another matter. There are a whopping total of five homes on our county road and it is 2 1/2 miles long. You might see three cars a day as we are the last house. We have met two of our neighbors as one house is not inhabited at the moment, severe foundation problems. The individual that shows up, just mows at that house. The two of the neighbors we have met, one is wonderful and he checks on the property and cattle for us. Our leasee who has cattle on our property keeps tabs on our cattle, too. The other neighbor we have met lives just to our north. We politely as is custom to ask if he minded if we replaced the fence line dividing our properties. He was very happy and said he would help. We needed to use his drive to get easy access which was fine with him. The next weekend when we started we never saw hide nor hare of him or his wife all day and their cars were at the house. Oooh in rural Texas that is considered rude. Not to mention this was the first time I walked that line. We cleaned out the mesquite trees in it. And picked up all his trash he threw into our pasture. I have promised myself no wars until we move up there as I know he watches our place. Yet if I continue to find beer bottles and junk in the pasture the fight is on when we make a permanent move. It will be real simple for me to build a three hundred foot cedar fence the length of our shared property line. It will destroy his view looking down the hill. I can play his cityfied mentality better then him. If he leaves my property alone, then I'll leave him be. Thank you for letting me vent.

I love days like that! We are very lucky to have extra helpful neighbors also...and it is fun to help them if they need help too. That is alot you got done today...how great is that?!
