Ok, I am not sure what they are called but I call them 'glass globes' as most of them are round/globe shaped but there are different types... anyhow I posted some pictures of what I do with them,,,but you'll have to go over to my katmom blog to see....
I am heading into Spokane tomorrow to find some more at the local Thrift Shop.....

After all, it's all about re~purposing....

yep, Michele, using these old 'globes' is so great,,,,,even as garden elements,,,,,they can be painted, or left as they are.....in the garden, hanging from a macrame holder, for violet resevors or even for orchaids....or in the sewing room,,,to hold pins, or bottons are what ever.....
So what is "silver liquid picking stuff" ?

Love this idea. I have a couple packed away somewhere that I picked up years ago. I just may need to find them now :)

Its funny I have done that same thing with my old ceiling light containers...I also will use the really pretty ones & put them on a base for a sun globe out in my yard & gardens....the newer boring ones I spray paint the outside & put them in macrama hangers with potted flowers in them to hang on my front porch.....they are so great for new ideas so I never give mine up to the trash or recycling people...I even have one in my shop that has a flat bottom when turned up side down that I keep my silver liquid picking stuff in....its so thick that the heated metal won;t break it when i put it in there. who knew they would come in soooo handy....well you & I did...lol...have a great weekend Michele'

I forgot to mention, that they need to be flat bottomed globes.... I see lots of rounded ones which won't work,,,
but then why let that stop us????
How easy it would be to wrap wire around the 'neck' and then create a 'hanging' handle which would be attached to the wire around the neck to hang a plant in/from...
or you could do a 'wire' macrame' around the glob and then insert little tea light candle or a votive candle in to a seperete glass votive holder ( or baby food jar) then hang out doors around the patio or if you have a free standing shepards hook, hang from there....hmmm, and how cute would that be to wire wrap some colored glass beads to the outside as well! omg! looks like I have to hit the Thrift again to go get some globes for this project!
