Posted - May 08 2006 : 4:02:32 PM Ladies! Please pass along your great wisdom on the fine art of soap making with goats milk! We are in the process of starting our goat farm and I would love to be able to make things from scratch using goats milk! Advice or recipes-whatever you are willing to offer!

Posted - May 15 2006 : 09:52:57 AM Robin there are tons of sites with recipe's for soap. I tend to come up with my own though so my favoite is http://www.thesage.com/index.html I go in their lye calculator and list my ingrediants, how much I want to use and it tells me how much liquid and lye I need. Will even print out step by step instructions if you ask it to. Robin is right...when using milk, water, or whatever liquid your planning on, put it in the freezer until it's slushy...NOT frozen. Keep in mind that milk will burn in the lye. It won't hurt the soap, but it will turn brown if the milk is burned. I usually add the lye very slow when using milk and it doesn't seem to happen as much that way. |
