I'm talking about the stuff we eat, not your significant other (as in Peter, Peter, Pumkin Eater, had a wife and couldn't keep her, put her in a pumkin shell and there he kept her very well).

My husband and I use honey in and on everything, and I buy it by the gallon. But of course, we can't very well pour it out of the gallon jug onto our cereal. So I've tried keeping it in various smaller dispensers: rubbermaid drinking bottles, reused squeezable bottles that other honey came in from the grocery store. They all tend to drip and get sticky on the outside.

Do you have a particular brand or model of container that's widely available and works especially well?

I use a regular mason jar and a tea spoon ( the kind you use to stir a glass of ice tea with ).
I usually have 3 quart jars full on the pantry self and one in the kitchen cupboard.

I use a little honey pot. I tried one of the honey sticks for a while and got frustrated with it as it dribbled all the time on me. I use a spoon, but having the smaller container is great. I just add more as I need it.

I don't use honey, but my honey does. We found a glass dispenser at Goodwill which he likes very much, and he is very persnickety. It looks like a maple syrup pourer, but the honey dribbles out in a stream from the bottom. It's very neat.

We use a simple canning/mason jar.

I keep my huney in nothing special just keep it where its handy when I want it. Now for my big huney, I just keep him in a cage to keep him tamed.

I have a little glass honey pot dispenser that I found when ordering soap supplies from Glory Bee Foods.

We get ours from the local "bee man". It is in a gallon bucket, I put some in a mason jar and from there I put it in the creamer of our tea set. I can warm it easily in the microwave and it is easy for our kids to pour.

I do like the idea of a honey pot though!

Oh, that honeypot is so sweet (no pun intended). I may just have to buy one of those. Thanks for the link!

Well . . . my "honey" doesn't even know how to run the washing machine, so I won't be chaining him to it. He is terrified of the vacuum . . but he is an EXCELLENT cook. So, I think I'll keep my honey in the kitchen.

Along with the other honey . . . we get it from our local bee man by the quart. He uses canning jars and that is what we keep it in.

THANKS for the chuckles girls . . . along with the "sweet".

Amie...I have to laugh at your comment. DH is down there doing laundry as we speak....and I didn't even have to chain him to the machine. Marrying a man that was a bachelor until he was 51 has it's advantages. He's WELL house-trained!! Horray for me!!! lolol

heeheehee I was thinkin' the same thing StarMeadow =P

Sorry Amie =) I have been trying to think of where I saw the best deals on the little jars and dippers
but they aren't very spendy and they look old fashioned and pretty on the table too =)

I think I really may have to seek out a honey dipper. But I'll definitely need one that comes with a little jar that has a hole in the little for the handle.

Chained to the washer is appealing too! But he'd be able to reach his tools from there.

the basement, chained up to the washer, so he can do my laundry! LOL.

Wait, um, in a honey dipper my mother gave me, and in a mason jar.

I found a pretty, square, heavy glass decanter with an air-tight lid at a Discount store. It's perfect. Being square, there's lots of room to dip honey out w/o bumping the edge and dripping everywhere. THAT'S a plus! hahaha It's also heat-resistant in case I have to heat it in a pan of water on the stove when it crystalizes.
