Hi all you farmgirls,

Holiday Greetings...from our barn to your's! I'm attaching a photo collage of some of the sights at our place this time of year. Included are a few MakeItEasy items I made...the ragball snowman(girl!) ornament, the barbwire wreath that is all lit up on my barn, and the orange pomanders nestled in homemade potpourri.
The elk antler was one I found a couple of years ago when we were trailing cattle out of the hill country. The tree photo was just a lucky shot taken when it was very cold at dusk. I was totally tickled when I found the bird nest in my Christmas tree this past weekend! I removed it and then put it back once my tree was up in the living room -- I had a cute little Chickadee ornament and faux eggs to put with it. We went out on an annual tree hunting expedition with my BIL last weekend -- and we harvested 4 juniper trees for family & friends. Don't fret, there are thousands of acres of them and they can use thinning. I made hot 'grogg' to drink while we were out 'hunting'; the recipe is on my MJF "Ranch Farmgirl" blog that was just posted today. I hope you all have a blessed holiday season. Merry Christmas from the 'Cowboy State'!!

oh...I just remembered, I have a stash of old barb wire off the side of the "Man Cave" that DH was goning to cut up & get rid of....I think I will bundle up, ear muffs & all...and dash out there & grab it before he gets to it!
I still have time to roll it, attach lights & place it on my sled out front.
THANX for the great idea! gotta run..bye! I mean "Brrrrr"

Thanks everyone! Mary Beth, Sure...I would and I'm sure everyone else would love to see your Christmas tree collage. Dawn, one of the photo programs I use is the freebie called Picasa (free download from Google). The collage is one of the options you can play with. I use it quite a bit actually -- and make use of it too on my MJF ranch farmgirl blog. I take a lot of photos and the collage 'thingy' lets me turn several photos into just one image for a visual aid 'sidedish'.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday hub-bub. I know it gets busy, but it sure is fun and sometimes you just have to take a deep breath, make Life back up a little so you can maintain your personal 'peace' :o) I'm trying some new Christmas cookies this year - one is a very artsy/pretty easy cookie - a chocolate cookie with white chocolate frosting and crushed peppermint candy sprinkles. The best part is that it is easy and not too putzy. I just can't do the highly involved recipes. I'm making one roll out cookie and that's the limit of foodie-fussy for this kid.

Love the barb wire wreath. That is so cool. I have some out on one of the fences. I might try that, too. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures. Merry Christmas to ya'll!

JoAnn, Thank you for the kind words. No, not chenille, the fabric strips used to make my ragball snow-people are torn strips of muslin --- hot-glued onto a styrofoam ball. EasyShmeezy.
