After I made my other post about my daffodils bulbs peeking out, I went out the front door and the wild Daffodils are blooming.
Several years ago the hwy near me was widened and an old Farmhouse that had been empty for about 20 years was torn down to make room for the wider Hwy. There were 1000's and 1000's of these daffodils. Artist would set up there easels and paint the Farm House and the Daffodils.
On the day I went to dig up some of the bulbs there was a line of cars already there, digging. All of us who live in this area would stop and pick them every year. They are so special to me. The Beekeeper in our area moved his bees under the 2 pecan trees that missed the road construction. The rest of the land is still farmed.

Beautiful daffodils and I love to hear stories about recuing plants from old homesteads. Throughout the years I have done a little bit of homestead recuing.

Thanks Heather, they are so special! We all still miss seeing that blaze of yellow on our way to the farmstand and the grocery store.

What a special story! That's awesome that your community dug up and saved the flowers!!!!
