This past Thursday, Katie Brown was a guest on the "Regis & Kelly" show for their "Green Week".
Katie spoke about companion planting as well as using garlic to worde off pests. Use garlic plants or spray your plants w/garlic juice. Garlic is a natural sulfur & repels bugs not to mention vampires!
And don't forget to recycle your coffee grounds in you soil/compost bins.
She spoke about purchasing your plants in peat pots instead of plastic pots. So simple,,,just tear off the bottom & plant the plant-peatpot & all, in the ground. How simple is that?
I'll have to check my local Nursery to see if they carry peatpotted starter plants.

Hi Talitha,
Bummer about not having access to HGTV & DIY....
as a rule my DH & I feel T.V. has no redeaming value....that being said, we are both addicted to HGTV/DIY(me) & the Golf channel (DH)...the logos are nearly burnt into our T.V. screen.LOL!
Carol Duval's craft show is no longer on HGTV : > (
I loved watching her show on the rare occassions when I was home(off from work). I tried taping her shows & other garden & craft shows, but would end up with several dozen taped shows,,,and no time to watch them. So I quit taping them.
I find that I can go on the internet, HGTV's site and look at what shows are of interest & then check them out closer & pull up the particular craft/sew/garden idea & print out the info.
I started two 3" binders, 1 for craft/sew ideas & the other for garden ideas. I print out the instructions/info etc., put it in a clear sheet protector & file it in my binder.
I also insert the freebies that I get from the craft stores with picture/instruction for a craft/crocheting idea, those go in the binders too!
Oops, look at the time, gotta get ready for church. <><
