I'm getting ready to start some herbs inside and then plant them outside later. Does anyone have any tips as I've not done this before!

Mikki I have also used those little jiffy pots (I think that is what you are talking about). The key with those is not to crowd your seeds since you cant seperate the seedlings out when you transfer.

My last attempt ended in..well....death. I am better at keeping things alive vs starting them in a pot and then keeping them alive! lol!

I bought those little pots that you just transplant pot and all. I've never used them before.

Pulp egg cartons are great for starting seeds, too. Julie's ideas are right on. MB

They are really easy. I start mine in little pots and just sprinle some seeds into the soil, water and set in a sunny spot. They will be sprouting in just a few days! I just planted some basil and fennel last week and I already have plants coming up.

When I transfer mine to the garden I usually plant some additional seeds directly into the bed. This way I have some staggered growing which allows time for the plants to replenish after I make cuttings.
